If the age rules for Season 86 are the same as Season 85, then yes, Nelle would have no problem with age. However, the host can easily change the age rules again (with the concurrence of the UAAP Board, of course) so you never know.

The rule for Season 85, I believe, is that you cannot turn 26 during the UAAP season (the whole tournament, not just the basketball tournament). Since Nelle's 26th birthday is in June 2024, it is unlikely that he will turn 26 within Season 86, as Season 86 will likely be done by June 2024. Ange Kouame, on the other hand, turns 26 in December 2023, so even though he still has one eligibility year, he can no longer play in Season 86.

Nelle and Nonoy have 1 more year, while Ben has 2 more years. Nonoy played one year in UST, had to serve residency (counted as one playing year) and then has played two seasons for DLSU. So he has only one more year left.

Re high stock: Possibly Quiambao. But given his age, it is not wise for him to transfer to another UAAP school.

Guys who have not been given significant playing time can also leave. Like Blanco, or some guys on Team B who did not make it to Team A this season (Andres, Gollena, Galman, Montecillo, Alao--- who else?). There are just too many recruits in the pool for DLSU.

There are opportunities other than UAAP. Look at Dave Ando, who left UST even if it was just his second year last season.

All of them are still eligible. Nelle (June), JLC and Jerom (July) birthdays.

As long as they dont turn 26 during the entire UAAP season 86 (including volleyball and awarding ceremonies for general champ), theyre good to go

Again I cannot substantiate any of Manong's claims until I see his explanation but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt given he's a coach lol

The one year residency is not counted since 2020 season was cancelled.

KQ has the potential but he's been inconsistent all year so it's unlikely he has a high stock.

Andres, & Gollena are eligible for S86. Alao is injured that's why he's debuting next year. Ice, Galman & Nathan maybe although I will say this about Galman and Nathan if minutes/line up are what's important to them, they should have left earlier like what that team B DLSU center & Deo did and transferred already to serve residency.

EDIT: Checked Galman's Tiktok and he seems to reiterate his commitment to DLSU in his latest post and commented "Animo! " when told to see him next season.

They do but again these are all just speculations. The only sure one that's leaving is Schonny.

Counted against since UAAP Season 83 residency year ni Nonoy.

If ever, he should have not been allowed to play in Season 84 then.

Wait, who's the Team B DLSU center?

    Paul Turco.
    He crossed to CSB.

I forgot they still have Joshua David. And Policarpio, the Schonny replacement and Geremy Robinson.

Joshua David got injured during the S84 off season although was a reserve for this season. Poli remains loyal. DJ just landed in MNL recently and has been attending games with Gollena. Geremy is eligible but his paperwork wasn't filed on time.

At any rate DLSUs 2 and 3 positions are overloaded. Austria, Macalalag, Abadam, Manuel, Escandor plus from team B you have Galman, David, Gollena, Andres, Mitchell and Robinson. Then you still have Marasigan and Coronel from HS.

Definitely 2 to 3 guys will be displaced.

I think Manuel will be gone, and I hope Escandor will finally be gone as well.

Austria, Abadam and Macalalag made good accounts of themselves (in varying degrees) this season. If it were up to me, they should stay in Team A.

    Koon Effect:
Noted that Ateneo's resurgence has something to do with the increased involvement of Chris Koon. Not surprising because Koon has impressive credentials in the first place. Players like him thrive in a team-centered system where you get your points and efficiency rates through hard work and doing specific roles to contribute in one way or another. For me, if he maintains this kind of work rate with added confidence and aggressiveness, he will be a game changer. He's like a taller version of Chris Tiu who can do it all. I also understand that he's got more playing years left for Ateneo so, in the long run, this will be useful to convince FIBA for a potential Gilas call-up as a local.

Yup overloaded. Here's to Escandor moving up to management ala Jacob Lao (Lmao) and Manuel leaving.

I like Galman actually. He can actually shoot the ball way better than Jcee and Abadam while David proves to be another ball handler and play maker that will be huge in breaking the press.

Rotations will open more after S86.

Do you have any source regarding Marasigan and Coronel's commitment? DLSU is not exactly known for its continuity.

None of those guys are good though except for Mitchell whos not a wing.

None of them are better than Alarcon , Koon ADMU’s and UP’s first wing of the bench.

Just cos you're not familiar with their game doesn't mean they're not good lmao.

Austria cant shoot well enough for a guy whos kinda slow and not that tall he can move off the ball and finish with both hands . Macalalag lacks range explosiveness , Galman cant gaurd anyone decent poor poor mans Vosotros cause he cant play point in a pinch and isnt physically strong , Coronel is more like Policarpio than a true wing, David is coming off an ACL and is older with minimal expirience .

You dont need a lot of wings you just need 3 good ones . DLSU’s best wing next to winston was Nonoy and hes 5’8

Would any of these guys get more minutes than the guys playing in the finals? Thats the level they have to be in for dlsu to be a contender.

    Andrade, Dave, Koon
    Spencer , adabiano, Alarcon

Yup, I would put them up against any of the best wings. DLSU's problem is not the lack of talent. It's the injuries and coaching.

EDIT: LMAO on the Galman comparison as a poor man's Vosotros. You're really comparing an undersized PG to a wing. That's how I know this is a bait.
