It is of course for the benefit of teams who lost matches against Russian teams. Now all losers are 100% winners. Go figure. No wonder Euroleague is called mafia.

No they didn't choose the easiest. They asked clubs' opinion and of course losers voted the way to their benefit. It doesn't make sense you give the decision based on such voting.
