    Default 2022 Nba Draft Thread

    Anything about 2022 Nba Draft

    https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2022/03/...y-combine.html

I will start with these infos:

"The NBA has officially confirmed the dates and locations for its three primary draft-related events in 2022. Those events are as follows:

Draft Combine: Monday, May 16 – Sunday, May 22 in Chicago.

Draft Lottery: Tuesday, May 17 in Chicago.

2022 NBA Draft: Thursday, June 23 in Brooklyn (Barclays Center).

It’s also worth noting that all three events will be held fully in person this year. The draft, lottery, and combine were virtual in 2020, and the 2021 lottery also took place virtually."

PS: There will also be only 58 picks this year due to Bucks and Heat forfeiting their respective second round picks because of Tampering

Default Verification of Automatic eligible vs Early entrants

This is verification proof of the CBA applying it's rules showing those who are automatic eligibility (1. 2. & 3 below) DO NOT declare for the draft

    1. US NCAA players who have exhausted college eligibility years
    2. International prospects who turn 22 yrs old
    3. US high school players who turn Pro

    https://www.nba.com/news/nba-announc...nba-draft-2021

Note the none inclusion of the following on the list of requiring to declare early entry
    1. There is no one who has exhausted college years (note Remy Martin a senior is on list but not yet exhausted college eligibility)
    2. There is no international prospect with a DOB of 1999 or earlier ( born 1999 turn 22 yrs old in 2021)
    3. All the Ignite players - Green , Todd, Kuminga, Nix are not on the list (they DID NOT declare but were eligible to be drafted)

Note players like Makur and Ariel who declared early withdrew
    https://www.nba.com/news/nba-announc...rom-2021-draft

Would be ignorance to ignore this explicit clear application of the rules
Kai is automatically eligible to be selected for the 2022 draft without declaring early entry (period)

Consensus top 5 selections in most of the major polls are Jabari Smith, Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren, Jayden Ivey and Keegan Murray.

NCAA years of eligibility (add 1 year due to Covid), before automatically entered in NBA draft

Traditionally, a student-athlete has 5 years to play 4 years of their sport. An extra year means a current college student-athlete would have 6 years to play their 4 years.*

It means AJ Edu is eligible for 2 more NCAA seasons before automatically entered into the draft (hopefully i got my math right , 6 years since he entered Toledo ?)

I am not sure if AJ can still be an Nba player with those injuries. (Just please not pba, hopefully int leagues + Gilas)

Someone could make an argument that he was as good or better than Kai in their Batang Gilas Stint (Aj was/is 2yrs older though ofc)

    But yeah, those injuries sucks.

It is expected to have a lot of changes will happen depending on the march madness.

For ex: Duren VS Chet. And etc.

I dont think NBL nba prospects will rise in mock drafts that much. Because Attention will be on March madness.

Everybody knows that the US NCAA is where most NBA players come from. Even international players come to the US NCAA like Hakeem Olajuwon (Nigeria), Steve Nash (Canada), Rik Smits (Netherlands), Detlef Shcrempf (Germany), Joel Embid (Cameroon).

Did you know that the title favorites for the US NCAA tournament, the Arizona Wildcats, has seven (7) international players on their roster? That says a lot that the best pathway to the NBA has always been the US NCAA.

Especially considering draft rules on automatically being eligible.

1.If a player studies in a US High school program (prep school) and isn't a one and done level phenomenon . It's best to enter a US college program and have 4 years of development before automatically being eligible for the draft.

2.If one is to play in overseas pro leagues it is best not to study high school in the US , so at least one has 4 years to develop in that pro program until 22 years old before entering the draft

    3. Really studying in US high school and turning pro is not advisable!

AJ Edu is an Asian import prospect and I like that idea better.

    Interesting. 5 Nba Teams.

Common Names: Jabari, Chet, Banchero, Ivey, and then some mentions if AJ Griffin and Mathurin.

They were all worried about Chet's Body though which imo is understandable. But yeah, There are teams who will gamble on Chet as 1st OVR Pick.

I agree with the last scout though. Maybe Jabari and Ivey are safer picks

It's consistent with mocks , and really especially the lottery the mocks are accurate reflections of range. (e.g who are 1st 5 picks , 6 to 10 etc and further who are 45 to 80 range ( still in radar serious consideration), these probabilities are really supported by historical data

Ron Harper Jr Declared for 2022 Nba Draft.

Sayang. He really was/is interested to play for Gilas. Unfortunately, he was unaware of the hagop rule.

Hopefully, His Brother Dylan Harper will get a Fil Passport in time since he is 15 rn iirc. No word from Dylan though about this. But at least we know their parents are aware about the hagop rule now (based on their interview video with sir quinito)

If we can get a local dylan, I will actually consider making Ron Harper Jr. As our NP in the Future.

PS: Dylan ranked high in 247sports and Rivals. In the 30s I Think.
