Greece still has high level point guards. France, maybe lacking par exellence Euro minded PG, but having Okobo, Maledon and Ntilikina is pretty solid. Lithuania has Jokubaitis and Lekavicius. Spain only missing Rubio, but he will come back and guys like Alocen and Nunez will be ready to back him up.

It does appear to be a position in decline- generally there aren't the sheer amount of quality creative PGs that there were in the previous generations. Teodosic, Diamantidis, Rodriguez, Calderon, Calathes. You mentioned Rubio but even he is early 30s now.
Jokubaitis seems to be a bit of an exception. Classic PG skills are undervalued and especially in relation to outside shooting ability.

Slovenia looks to have with Samar and Vide very solidly covered Pg position for the future, especially if we know that Luka is only 23 years old. Guards won't be a problem for next decade, problem for Slovenia is small population and consequently lack of the big bodies.

Everyone here complains about their team and say their weaknesses maybe except Slovenians. Teams which have Jokic, Giannis, Doncic and even Sabonis are naturally favorites and their target must be top. Maybe only Spain has excuses for this tournament. At the end of the day, one of these teams will win probably.

How can Jokubaitis be considered in same level with the guys you mentioned. Guys like Jokubaitis and Maledon are only prospects. They never lead a high level team. Maybe they can in coming years but now they are not in same level with Doncic, Sloukas, Sato, Fournier even Ntilikina.

I have watched more or less all Mavs games, so you can believe me that Ntilikina is bad. He isn't even good enough to be on court because of his Pgs skills, which are nonexistent, he's getting some minutes only as defensive specialist. Jakubaitis is much better Pg than Ntilikina.

It could be that Teo didn't agree to smaller role that Peić probably suggested to him or he just doesn't fit the game plan. This means Avramović is in as a pesky defender who can do a good on ball pressure as well as Jaramaz. The only problem about this move is that behind Micić we don't have any more passing point guards. Both Jaramaz and Avramović are combo guards with not so polished passing skills. Peić is probably counting on Jokić to be that playmaker along with Micić, which is good indication of maximizing Jokić's skill set. The idea is obviously to build a fighting team around Jokić and Micić.
Very good reasoning. Teodosic is still Teodosic and he could be the first option in most of the teams in tournament, but for Serbia having him in team along with elite passers like Micic and Jokic could be a bit luxury. You will need on ball pressure in big games to derail opponents. Jaramaz is that guy. I wouldn't cry out for Teodosic if I am Serbian.
Sports is not only considered as a superiority of physical capability. Perception, intelligence and morality assist it as well. The strong with less intelligence and comprehension can not cope with the less strong but with sufficient intelligence and comprehension. I like the sportsman who is intelligent, agile as well as morally upright.

A bit too soon to tell cause there's Jokubaitis, Nunez, Samar (and even A. Marciulionis) who all have that "Classical PG" profile + 23yo Doncic. Some others, not so obvious cases ATM, might emerge a bit later. The same French dudes, even if they never typical Euro PGs, will fill the market as Maledon, K.Hayes, Strazel.

My point is that Jokubaitis is pure, classical Euro PG. If you have elite decision maker, dominant facilitator - you are on the good track cause without it it's super hard to win anything even if you're stacked in other positions. He likely won't be all that dominant ATM and he shouldn't be, but capable of running the team already as shown many times in Barsa. The thing is that LTU has PG answer long term.

Fournier is not PG, Ntilikina barely too as KB expressed.
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

    Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
    Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
    Buzelis, Lelevicius
    Murauskas, Sirvydis
    Tubelis, Krivas

Doncic has joined NT today. So he might play in Istanbul.

Greece looks very good for this period and without Sloukas. They woon 16 points against Spain.

Willy the best Spanish player though...

I literally not familiar with a bunch of Spanish players among top scorers. Nah, this is not usual Spain...

Nobody cares about those games, Spain with B team and 0 preparation for Greece. Put just Gobert or other big camping in the paint and game changes totally.

I agree, but forget about caring, no idiot would try to go hard defense against a known injurer like Adetokubo (Porzingis, Irving) and risk an injury weeks before EB22. Im sure the Spaniards still know what happened to Llull against Belgium back in 17. Yes Adeto is very efficient when the defense on him is marginal, but fanboys should hold their horses, untill I see him score 30 against a top tier team in an actual Fiba match that matters Im going to remain skeptical.

Even if I dont like this Giannis hype as well its always good Spaniards losing. Lets face it though Spain is not a top team this time and Giannis will be better, much better but if Greece doesnt win a medal with him now it never will. I dont see any problems for Greece until quarter finals.

sorry dude but spanish a or b teams players are fundamentally smart prepared players and any nba player arent comming and dominating them like that in 20min like playing some kids.

Only special tallents can make it look so easy .

Im not sure Gobert have ever scored 30pts forget in 20min

haters gonna hate no matter what until there will be no denying greatness.

Nba people already shut their mouths about Giannis what he cant do.

Fiba fan haters gonna do that too. When that athletic freak gonna start dominate game on both sides not just offensively.

You really believe that Spain was prepared for Giannis and wanted to limit him?

All teams in Eurobasket will have only 1 plan against Greece, how to stop Giannis. And that's not how Spain has played tonight. But if you're right and Giannis can score at will then Greece has already won Eurobasket. Luckily you're not.

That's classical Giannis, he's scoring like madman in All Stars games too, where more or less all others are just having fun.

giannis scores alot only in all star games ? ) Dude have you watched nba last 2 seasons or only your mavs games?

How about averaging 35pts in nba finals with 50pts nba clinching title game? or in nba finals also nobody plays defence ?

Giannis literally was nr 1 nba player both 2021 and 2022 seasons.

but fiba coaches gonna show how stop best player i the world aha sure they will scout him and stop him with slow non athletic white dudes.

how naive some fiba fans are is beyond me

Are you all right? Your unnatural happiness after 1 preparation game looks a bit off to me.

I see some racist comments too.

Fiba rules will stop him, not coaches and players from Europe.

Btw. Doncic was better scorer than Giannis in last 3 playoffs.

Giannis is good, but you're acting like he's better than prime Jordan.

If anything won't work they can easily play hack the Giannis with very solid chances of success.

But hey, there's still a chance that he will average 45/20 and Greece will win Final by 30 points. Anyway, Greece at 5:1 should be easy money for you. Nobody is beating team with that kind of monster.

Ok, Giannis maybe needs to show something more. And he probably will do.

But now to Spain. They have lot to prove. Who's gonna be their leading player? Hernangomez bros are good palyers but not go-to-guys. And I don't get how they ended up naturalizing Brown? Not alone he has nothing to do with Spain. Zero connection. But he is also really average player. Not even close to be on level of their recent guard rotation. Come on Scariolo. Just let the Nunez play even if he's maybe still too young. It's gonna pay back in few years.
