  • Best Turkish player performances of the week thread.

Since not all players are prospects such a thread could be helpful to track our players performances.

    1. Furkan Korkmaz: Furk made a great game in the evening and made 7 of his 9 3 points attempts. He is in the top 10 of making the most points in the fourth quarter. After Ben Simmoms absence the ball rotates better and Furk has the opportunity to show that he can create for others. He has averaged 12,4 points and almost 3 assists per game with 42% from the three point line.

    2. Alperen Sengün: struggles defensively especially in the low post a bit, has trouble finishing around the rim but he was sixth in steals in the whole NBA. The most positive surprise is that he has no problem for creating himself and others. He averaged 3 assists per game in not even 20 minutes, takes always the right choices, unless he tries to make fancy passes. . He is also at 36% from the 3 point line. His average numbers are 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

    3. Muhaymin Mustafa: the Turkish guard made a good jump from his last season in Greece with Ionikos. After his 21 points in the FIBA Europe Cup he contributed to the win against Lavrio with 13 points and 6 rebounds. The 99 born guard should be a solid option for the NT in the future.

    4. Sarper David Mutaf: the 02 born shooting guard turns out to be a lethal scorer more and more. Takes difficult shots from various positions and averages 21 points in 4 games in LEB Plata

Cedi Osman had an outstanding shooting game yesterday against the Bucks. He contributed 23 points with very high percentage from 3.

Ömer Yurtseven had again a very solid game against the pacers. He still cant make easy shots that he would make while he is sleeping but he defended very well and saw cutters very good. 13 rebounds he grabbed against Sabonis and Turner (6 offensive) and played very good defense against them. Even after a positioning mistake in the low post against Sabonis he was still able to smack the ball out of his hands. He seems to be trusted by the team. If he can increase his efficiency a bit more he can really grab the bench big role in Miami. Would have never thought. Sabonis played a horrible defense

Ömer Yurtseven had his career night with the heat. He contributed in a game he started 16 points alongside 15 rebounds. He is really a prolific rebounder like Alperen Sengün. I would have never imagined to show himself in this short amount of time. He still makes many unnecessary mistakes though but he is definitely more physical and plays better defense also his screens are very solid again like Alperen Sengün.

Amazingly good performances of Sipahi and Osmani. Spain really developed him very much. He should be on the court in the next FIBA window for Turkey. Poor mans Diamantidis gives average play making beside his great defense.

Osmani is surely a clear EL talent. 211cm and so mobile and talented. What big rotation Bandirma had. This is really unbelievable. Osmani and Kabaca on the verge of making the step to Euroleague besides Akoon Purcel and Melo Trimble.

Not the greatest day for Turkish teams today, Bursa and Besiktas gave away won games but I am really happy about the roles Turkish players are filling up right now. Especially Kenan Sipahi came back greatly and had a big step up. The most dominant performance of a short player for a very long time.

To be honest havent watched the game of Bursa but Bitim had really good numbers. Should stay in Bursa for a couple years

My boi Omer Yurtseven contributed 13 points (6-9 shooting), 10 rebounds & 6 assists in 29 minutes against the Hawks. I want him to be a bit more mobile thats all. We are again gifted with superb bigs. Alperen Sengun is expected to be back tomorrow.

Omer Yurtseven with a never expected consistency made the best of the chance that he got and developed from a nobody to the most surprising rookie in the league. Great game with 17 points (6/9), 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block. We can really be very happy about having 2 bigs with these rebounding and passing skills. Of course Sengün has still a much higher ceiling but its simply great that Yurt keeps developing.

The other guys of Osman and Sengün are also having a solid season but Furk still struggles hitting his shots. He has been having an awful time of 1,5 month and needs to get a grip.

Ömer is getting the reward for working hard. an unusual trait for a Turkish bball player. A rare and pleasant surprise. He has major flaws in his game, but also more tricks in his arsenal that he did not activate yet, such as 3-pointers. Hope he can continue improving.

I guess its the break out season of Onuralp Bitim in Bursa, its not that late. 15 points in Euro Cup against Buducnost now 15 points in one half against Merkezefendi. Definitely an option for the NT.

Wow, just wow! Really dont know how to describe it. Ömer Yurtseven was always the soft guy who got pushed out of his position and got intimidated by other bigs who were stronger than him and now he defended Embiid head to head. If he can cope with Embiid there is nobody in the world he cant cope with.

22 points (10/12) 11 rebounds 1 assist 1 block. Defended Embiid 3 quarter very well. He has the body and the mindset right now. The next Eurobasket will be fun for sure.

Sehmus Hazer again with 3/5 from three. I still dont buy this but he did a good job today too. With 5 assists but he is not polish enough to make me buy this. What I buy is his amazing athleticism.

Mert Akay had a very productive game in the Serbian league again. Just having played 17 minutes he scored 9 points and had 7 assists. He surely will need some time to be at 100% again but he looked good.

Very fun game between FB and Efes. Sehmus Hazer on FB side is a great on ball defender and he shows very good approaches of making plays, too many mistakes still quite useful on this level. When he keeps filling up this role he could be a good secondary play maker in 2-3 years.

Yigitcan Saybir on Efes side gave very solid 5 minutes as well. Very polished and controlled movements. He can slash to the rim on EL level, defense is not tight enough but he is strong, very strong and shows flashes to be a good rebounder.
