I guess the no. play 1 in the playbook would be give to JC and get out of the way.

Just watch replays of the 2018 AG hugot team. You’ll get an idea.

Just add three to complete the pool, since switching between games is allowed. I have Lopez, Thirdy or Perez, and one of Almazan or June Mar as the last 3.

Didn’t include them because it looks like SMB and TNT are making the finals.

Not sold on Almazan but we don’t have much to choose from.

So, Lopez, Thirdy/Newsome, Almazan. Lopez is not affiliated with any team, while Thirdy is in offseason mode.

Yep, not much to choose from, so Almazan.

Thirdy, Lopez, and Newsome have a shot in the KSA game. They are reportedly again without their top center, Al-Suwailem, so we only need to counter their lone big, Al-Marawani.

We will absolutely need Almazan (or Erram/Fajardo) for the Lebanon game.

Too bad, Standhardinger and Clarkson can't play in FIBA. The two had a good read of each other during pick and rolls.

That would have to be Clarkson and Kai in this window.

McCarron and Sotto was a good PnR combo for the 36ers.

Having good defenders in Oftana, Malonzo, and Dwight, that's good. Scottie's also a decent team defender, and Japeth can provide weakside help.

I hope Nenad can get these boys to play good team defense; otherwise, we'd need to play better offensively, get easier shots.

This is the scary part. Japeth IRC has had only a few good games against strong competition. Kai on the other hand is not ready to be a starter.

Japeth has played decently in the PBA but Fiba is another thing.

I will also add Newsome and Almazan. IMO Newsome is the better option over Scottie now. But he is 30. This is the sad thing about exemptions.

Is Scottie really a PG by nature? From what I remember his game was more of a hustle SF guy that sometimes can shoot wide open 3s

I know Junmar is a bruiser guy but we need him to be active on defense body up opponents and make life easier to kai and our gaurds the Fiba Asia cup team lacked muscle and length..

Maybe combo guard. Honestly, I don't see him as a natural PG.

If I have my way, I'll pick Aaron Black over Newsome for developmental purposes (If Meralco loses to SMB in the ongoing semis). Black at 25 has some room for improvement & he is a good size point guard. He may not be that quick or athletic but I like his potential. Newsome on the other hand at 32, has alteady reached his ceiling & he will just duplicate what a Thirdy Ravena can bring to the table. Between Newsome & Thirdy, I'll go for the latter.

No. It was the bulinggit Jolangcob who played PG. But Scottie was tasked to bring down the ball on some possessions. He was a utliity guy in college. Baloria, Arboleda , Daganon, Omorogbe and even Vidal were the main scorers. Scoring isn't really his forte.
