Hope such report is 100% accurate.

Now my next question is, would these guys know how to use Kai?

Because Kai is a rim-runner, lob catcher, and occasional midrange shooter on offense, more than a low-post guy (which is honestly how Japeth should have been used).

And I hope his defense improves as well. Nenad hopefully can help him.

As you said, Nenad will be key to transitioning Kai from Tab to Choke.

Right now, I’m just happy he’ll wear the Gilas jersey again.

In the reports says he will be in the country on Aug. 18, 2022 and the first game against Lebanon will be on Aug. 25, 2022 and he will join a completely new Gilas squad. He has 5 to 6 days to be able to learn about Chot's DDO.

We're now set. We just need SMB to be eliminated so we could get June Mar and Perez. Kai Sotto joining now makes this interesting. A preview at least of our possible final 12 come world cup 2023

and what a way for it to happen against the silver medalist Lebanon plus Wael Arakji

Question is, how much does coach Choke believes coach Nenad's coaching ability? Up to what degree does Choke allows coach Nenad to apply the latter's X's & O's in the team?

We all know how proud & stubborn Choke Reyes eh. I just hope Choke allows Nenad to impart the latter's defensive scheme which Gilas badly needs since we all know Chot is not a good defensive coach in the FIBA game.

I'm much more concerned about the team's lack of cohesion/chemistry than the composition of the team. With a number of PBA players expected to make it to the final 12-man roster (maybe around 5 to 6 PBA players), plus Clarkson & possibly Kai Sotto, you got a "ragtag" team out there which is being give only 10 days of preparation.

Is he really now though? That's how he played last season but people were convinced he's at his best at the low post and they were using him wrong. Heck that was supposed to be his strength and his advantage over modern 4s and 5s like Chet, Mobley etc. It's Chot though he's probably pencilled in already as a rim runner. Honestly I'd like to see if he can dominate in the Asian level to gauge his current level.

Zhou Qi had 22-18 against Lebanon but they still lose... Kai should focus on defense than offense.... intimidate those slashers of Lebanon and KSA, I wish we could face Jordan too with this line up... sana Jordan nalang muna over KSA, since KSA is w/o a big man.... ganda sana match up between Kai vs Al Dwairi... since the latter wants to face Kai when Gilas (under Tab) vs Jordan last year in Abdullah Cup... He's eager to face our poster boy...

Speaking of which, I really thought that Lebanon's ace point guard Wael Arakji would struggle with his vaunted slashing game against a very good shot blocker like Zhou Qi. As it turned out, Arakji torched Zhou Qi & China's defense with 32 big points to lead Lebanon over China in a very close game.

Arakji must really be very very good.

So far, these are the confirmed players for the 4th window:

    Kai Sotto (AUS)
    Dwight Ramos (JPN)
    Ray Parks (JPN)
    Thirdy Ravena (JPN)
    Kiefer Ravena (JPN)
    Kevin Quiambao (UAAP)
    Carl Tamayo (UAAP)
    LeBron Lopez (Free Agent)
    Jordan Clarkson (NBA)

This is a more souped up team than the one SBP sent in Jakarta last month. Chot, definitely, should have no excuse in this one.

Bro, I think its not proper to say that Clarkson & Kai are confirmed to play for Gilas in the 4th window until these players land here in our soil.

I just hope that team gets a longer time to train. A 10-day training is obviously "bitin". The team could get better if trained for say 18 to 20 days.

So we are assembling the strongest possible team with a lousy coach. Good luck.

And with less than ideal prep time. So the coach can still have an alibi despite having the strongest lineup ever

On paper only. But Gilas will play on the hardwood, not on paper.

Composition-wise, malakas talaga yung team. But there are things like cohesion, chemistry & familiarity with the system. Such things aren't developed in a 10-day training period.

I have this feeling that Al Panlilio deliberately gave coach Chot & Gilas just a 10-day preparation period for the 4th window so that in case Gilas loses to Lebanon, Chot has a legit alibi - "10 days lang kasi binigay na training sa amin".

Kasi if Chot is given a 20-day preparation period, medyo less justified ang alibi in case Gilas loses to Lebanon. The thing is, we need a win not alibis or lame excuses.
