I know Kai has a lot of low scoring games in NBL.

But in his NBL Career. He was able to be the leading scorer for his team, and Lead in Plus Minus in a few games.

I don't think any homegrown Filipino right now can do that.

If Current Kai right now plays in PBA. I think he will be an MVP Contender.

But Ofc We care more about his NBL and Fiba Stints.

Kai being a Top 5 Asian Center in the Future will be a good success already

I really think the CBA where Tacko Fall and Haddadi (played ) is where Kai will be successful, and more importantly get the reps and minutes to improve his game for Gilas sake .
CBA would also be a 1st for a Pinoy , and not only would he have highest contact for a Pinoy but more importantly he will be a significant starter in a overseas league of the CBA level (a 1st for a Pinoy)

It?s would also be bye-bye NBA, unless he improves his craft.

Kai is having a good game 8 pts, 3 Rebs, 3 ast, + 5 plus minus in 8:25 mins of playing time (end of 3rd).

Hopefully he can play in the 4th quarter and go to double digits

Adelaide has no match up for Perth’s Bryce Cotton.

McCarron with 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for Adelaide. The 36ers had 6 guys with 20 playing minutes or more; DJ, Dech, Mitch, Drmic, Cleveland and Franks.

The victorius Perth had Cotton exploding his usual numbers of 30 points.

Sad that Kai didnt play entirely in 4th quarter.

Nonetheless, 8 pts in 8 mins with 75% FG and 100% FT efficient shooting (+5 plus minus) is still a good game for me.

So Wasserman now is dealing with CBA teams? Try harder historically wasserman is sending players to fill Asian leagues these days.lol that would be unprecedented. Maybe wass should sign NZ rejects and send them to Asian leagues.

On the other hand, Analyze's top tier agent Daniel Moldovan who represents Kiefer will be hoarding NZ patsies to fill asian league rosters.

20yr old Kai Sotto today posted 8pts, 3rebs , 3ast, +5 75% fg 100% FT in just 8min of game play.lol CJ is signing the death sentence of his coaching career.

Playing in the CBA is nothing more than an opinion of mines for Kai to get more meaningful minutes ( and be one of the main guys relied on to win games, not just produced stats with little impact on winning and losing.
Like it or not reality is Kai will not get the interest for the next level opportunities by playing limited mins , especially when the correlation of why he is taken out is his deficiencies in defense (consistently mentioned by Gaze , Thomas had a career night scoring a lot on Kai)
At the trajectory rate Kai is at (less minutes than last season), it's doubtful Kai wil average 18 min in any Euro Div 1 or NBL team for the 2023/24 season. Essentially moving more and more away each year from making a regular NBA roster spot. From 2020 to 21 , 22, and 23 (his chances are getting less and less (this is bad trajectory).
Notice as well how even his biggest fans are lowering the goal expectations after each each year ( from NBA star, to rotation player , to NBA draftee, to now 10 day contract..

Corey Webster who has had 26 and 22 pts last 2 games
Is averaging 21 mins per game for Perth this season
In the 2019/20 season he played in the CBA (Lions ), he avg 30 mins a game ...
Need to look at Zhou's stats for CBA as compared to NBL..
Easily Zhou avg 10 more minutes and is relied on more in the CBA as compared to NBL
BTW both Correy and Zhou earned more money in China than in Australia.
I believe (just my opinion) , Kai will benefit both financially and more mins (further developing him) if he played in the CBA

Agree with this 100%! The prestige for Kai playing in NBL doesn't really matter if he's not getting meaningful minutes. The worst part is its affecting his development.

How in the world is Kai regressing when he has been so efficient with his limited minutes at 20? It is not his fault that his idiot coach has been stuck playing small ball as if it were the glory days of CJ Brutus who was a run-and-gun scoring PG.

Case in point take the status of James Wiseman, Steve Kerr as a guard is struggling to integrate Wiseman into his system but they all knew that eventually small ball will be scouted. They drafted Wiseman as a second pick in order to match against Giannis. They relegated him to the Gleague but recently, they recall James because it is already a third of the NBA season, and GSW's small ball isn't really thriving. They were just lucky last year that they face weaker teams and those teams had injuries to their main player.

I will still wait for Wass's decision next year for Kai instead of predicting that Wass will send Kai to the CBA.haha That would be a historic moment for Wasserman as an agency. Kai at 20 will have a ton of options next year after his ADL stint.

If it is a 25yr old Kai with limited minutes, then it is worrisome.haha With the current trajectory of ADL's chances, they will most likely fall short in the top 6 and it would be too stupid for Brutus to not give more minutes to Kai unless they all want to sabotage Kai's future and let him stay for another year.haha I am not really worried of Kai's future his options is too limitless at age of 20.haha Landale, Gasol, Watanabe and countless others made it to the NBA at the age of 23 and beyond.

I'd rather not trust these agents. Remember when people used to defend their Bell? At the end of the day they're only thinking on how to get a bigger cut of Kai's earnings

You are correct about that but I really don't dwell on the agent but I bank on the upside and potential of Kai. He will continue to improve as he ages and he only needs opportunities and the right environment.

looks like the level of competition in the NBL is too much for Kai at this point of his career, might as well play for the CBA next season, which is by no means bad

Gaze - "Zhou can afford to stay in paint in defense in China , but you can't do that in NBL "

Things to note about the 36ers moving forward
Marshall has cracked the rotation with his improved play ( he sometimes starts and scored 15 pts today, showing CJ trust him.

CJ has confirmed a 3rd import is on his way.

As we get closer to playoffs , CJ will shorten further his rotation, and those playing under 12 mins will further get reduced PT. Especially if games are close

If Kai has an offer, given the circumstances that the 36ers aren't reliant on him, the negotiations for a release aren't as difficult. Note the Breakers let Wetzell go to Europe before end of season as they were already eliminated..

Why would Wass ask for Kai's release and play in the Asian League? That would be too risky and uncalled for. Kai is too beneficial for ADL even with limited minutes. Kai is providing viewers and tickets. It would surely add bad publicity for Kai and his team. Kai only needs to stay for more or less 3 months with ADL and he has Gilas games on February. He will then attend Gilas training camp on April to May then summer league then Fiba World cup. That is a very stacked schedule and October to December would be exciting for next year. If Kai's team would want him to further gain experience, then they could also target the NBA at age 22.

As always Analyze, you will want to paint Kai in a bad way. I will wait for Wass announcement and as 20 yr old Kai needs patience over anything. He has tons of options Analyze as per TADAS, they receive a lot of calls all over the world regarding Kai.lol At age 20, Kai has all the luxury of time and choices and he doesn't need to act desperate.
