And even if Greece and Serbia are in the Olympics, will Giannis play? Will Jokic and Bogdanovic play? For FIBA basketball to be popular, there must be a way to ensure that every NT will be able to bring their best possible lineups with their top players. Remember the criticism FIBA had gotten for Slovenia being unable to qualify for the 2019 World Cup despite being the European champions beforehand?

For all the flak FIBA gets for their current qualification system not ensuring that the top teams with the world's top players qualify at the world level, at least it worked in weeding out the pretenders coasting only on the reputation of their top players. The top teams does not always have the top players, it's all in the system.
