Dwight's problem is he's playing with a bad team with a bad system. The first 8 minutes of the 1Q was an eyesore. Dwight barely got any proper touches. He had to play dribble drive in order to get on the scores sheet because he's simply not getting the open looks.

or the simplest solution, the PBA/SMC could just not grant said players clearance to transfer to foreign leagues like what MVP did to BRP, though he eventually caved in (and rightfully so)

Can they do that without suffering a FIBA ban? Why does a player needs clearance again?

Interested ballclubs are willing to offer heaven and earth.

Kuliglig told me that Junemar is complete package, dominant and popular in Philippines. Marketable.

I don't see Junemar going to the B-League. He's way too loyal to SMC. He already got offered a multi-million offer from a CBA team years ago and he declined. The thing is, SMC can match the offers Junemar is getting from the B-League since he's way too valuable for them.

However.... they can't match the salary of every key player they have. That's way too much money. They have Junemar, Romeo and Abueva on lock even with millions of $ offered by B-League teams... but how about Bolick, Perez, C-Stand, Greg, Sanggalang etc.?
I say let these megabuck offers from B-league teams come to SMC players so that SMC management lead by Long Hair would be compelled to match such skyrocketing offers until SMC people realize its no longer practical or viable in terms of "profitability" to match all these B-league offers. As I've said, its not a question of whether SMC can afford to match these B-league offers or not. But rather a question of whether or not SMC can get a return of its investments by matching the posible megabuck offers that B-league teams might tender SMC players. Remember that everything boils down to business. Its about making profits. Costs/expenses versus profit. If the costs/expenses exceeds profit, then it results to loss or "kalugihan". If SMC has to double its players' salary expenses to keep its marque players from being lured by B-league teams then its a sure operation loss or "kalugihan" by SMC as far as its PBA operation is concerned. Without live audience & the high cost of a bubble set up in this pandemic period, I'm pretty certain that malulugi ang SMC management.

All I can say is: Mabuti nga mangyari yan sa SMC.

Which would be a clear violation of Phi labor laws. It would be like banning/prohibiting ordinary Pinoy citizens to work abroad. If a PBA player bring this matter before the Court or any tribunal, PBA will surely lose the case hands down.

Besides, meron ng ilang PBA players - Kiefer & Parks, who are now playing in an overseas league.

                • If Snow's report is true, Japeth shouldn't be thinking of the PBA Ban. He's 34 y.o., and B-League's Team's 3 year contract is perfect. By the time the contract is over, he'll be sitting in a shitload of money. Just think of it as his tenure to fatten his retirement fund.

                    Correct.

3 years in the B-league would make Japeth even more than financial secured. And by the time his contract with that B-league team expires, he would already be 37 - an ideal age for retirement. So who needs PBA by that time?

and I don't think the PBA can ban him for life (they can't afford it), after his stint with B-league he can remain with the PBA until he's 45-50ish year's old given the lack of 6'6 above big men in the league (hello Asi)

                        • The only thing that might keep Japeth from accepting the juicy offer from a B-league team is his loyalty to the evil empire. The same could also be said about Junmar.

Being a beloved member of BGSM gives Japeth an edge over JMF in terms of furthering his basketball career in his late-30's/early-40's. Although it's kind of rare nowadays, let's not forget that SMB has a knack for dumping their old superstars unceremoniously.
