Well the practice of your best players playing overseas for any would level team has been happening for years , it's a common thing. It's actually surprising it took the Philippines so so long , and it also shows how backward we really have been all these years

Blunt Question: Who among these guys would Gilas ACTUALLY miss? Kief and Parks were in the PBA and were to be called in as reinforcements anyway. Thirdy’s situation remains the same. Paras wasn’t invited in the last couple tourneys and his slot has been filled in decently by both Balti and Tamayo. Ditto with Juan, who’s said to have rubbed his teammates the wrong way. Javi was in the fringe list, so was Carino. That leaves just Dwight.

From Gilas’ perspective, it's gonna miss Dwight and Thirdy more than anyone else (if at all). In my view though, Paras and Juan should be given another invite to prove their worth.

Oh? I thought he had some Filipino in him? He is not eligible for Gilas?

There were rumors prior to his La Salle stint, unverified till now. I don’t recall him playing alongside a FSA.

Alright, got it. Since nothing has been verified, I will remove him from the list.

He had a 3-year deal with GMA/ABS. Just kidding hehe.

I don't know, but I do remember him being in Taiwan rumors. Hopefully, he can get signed to play in the B league also. The more the merrier.

    hahahaha

If he can improve his shooting form and his 3 point percentage shot, he would be a candidate for gilas.

It would be nice if he did. At the end of the day, the more players to choose from the pool, the better. It never hurts to have options. Any idea if he was invited by the SBP?

What offer, B league din? Which team? Good thing he is being used by Coach Yeng as a secondary ballhandler and primary defender of the opposing scoring guards. He took on Wright last timeout and Williams today. Williams scored 9pts off him but it was a case of good defense, better offense. Oftana even blocked him in a full iso situation.

He still plays like a rookie that he is, though. Wala pang gulang. Poor court awareness, poor decision making, shaky handles. But his perimeter defense and playmaking are already above average for a wing. Once he corrects his weaknesses, he’d be a solid PBA wing.

Looks like I’ll be following the B League more than the PBA this year. Plus there’s the convenience of being able to watch the games online. Have no idea why TV5 stopped their FB Live and YT streaming.
