wait did he signed a contract with the kbl team already??
Well, his supposed team is talking about breach of contract. Most probably, he did.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Are his handlers amateurs? Or did just found a better deal? This smells like another Ignite fiasco

this, seems they never intended to go to the the kbl. The chinese new year excuse doesn't even make sense, they had more than a month to get the requirements. Dave ildefonso was able to make it there weeks ago despite signing around the same time as balti

my hunch is Balti got homesick in Japan hence the underwhelming performance, and he thought it will be the same situation in Korea, otherwise he would've begged off from Strong-group stint. Not everyone's made for an overseas career. He will be in great hands under Aldin Ayo and Converge's deep, young core.

Going to Dubai was actually productive for Balti. He had his best performance in the last game. This is against Majok, Wael. A pretty strong and tall Lebanon team. He had 13 pts, 8 rebs, 3 stls and 1 ast in 29 minutes of play. But the visa thing is really weird. I forgot how long Korean visa takes. But if it is like a Japanese visa then it will only take 3 to 5 working days. I hope Chot includes him the in the WC pool. It is weird he added Quiambao but not Balti. At this point we need somebody like Balti.

pineda flexing his muscles in east asia, so far his camp is just burning bridge, eventually no pro team would want to deal with balti’s management team, heck if the kbl is petty they could block balti’s fiba clearance

Besides, unless we take them here as young as 10 years old, only few of them will be considered for naturalization. We need our locals to be trained to be more versatile players because they are the ones that will represent us in international competitions. It is also in preparation for their pro careers, PBA or overseas.
Yeah, our best 196-203cm locals would want playing time, right? Best way to get more guaranteed playing time as a frontcourt player is to be more versatile, and to be able to switch to 4. More playing time in the PBA, and probably a better likelihood to go overseas. Plus, you'll be more useful for Gilas.

And if you're good or versatile, there's less likelihood for you to be displaced. Guess what, in the PBA, the best bigs don't get displaced as a rule. Either they switch to the 4, or the import plays a different position to accommodate the good big.

That's a new angle. We were all quick to point fingers at Balti or his agents, but he's pointing towards the team office. Maybe this time, everybody shares a little bit of the blame.
