Wow, I love the variety of songs that you have put and I listened to many of them.

As a thank you note, here a Brazilian version of K'naan's "Waving Flag" as sung by Jorge and Mateus

The song I love most from Brazil in recent memory is "Rap Das Armas" by Cidinho and Doca which was a great hit in a number of European charts.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZthNYozVwNM

This version has been watched by more than 13 million on YouTube alone and there are tens of versions... with many more millions watching.

The original was done by Junior e Leonardo

Bobby Six in "Au bout de mes reves"

It features in the video the Algerian-German-Canadian boxer Benyamine Besmi and Congolese-Canadian boxer Pasteur Mbuyi

The video was shot in Montreal and many parts of it are in "Knock Out Gym" on Jean Talon. Towards the end of the viseo, there are also TV coverage from the official fights of Benyamine Besmi in Montreal

The most popular song on Chinese web nowadays except the language is not Chinese (but Onomatopoeia) and the music is by a German (Robert Zollitsch). Also known as "the song you could not sing even after 10,000 listens". Notice her eyes and facial expression

Youtube is now filled with of cover versions; here's Hong Kong actor Chapman To's (who officially requested from the singer that it be included in his next movie)...

    Here's a better attempt, hilarious

Anyway, this amazing singer Gong Linna has been holding concerts in Europe in case anyone's interested:

So, it's something like Chinese trololo? BTW, I felt odd while watching this. Definitely it didn't left me indifferent.

lol forgot about trololo... I guess it's because Mr. Trololo sings like he was on some sedatives while Ms. Gong sings like she had too much coffee...

Gong wrote on her twitter (Chinese equivalent) that she was shocked by the popularity of this song since it was neither pop nor traditional folk. Usually stuff like hers receive no interest in China, that's why people like her or Sa Dingding hold more concerts in Europe than at home.... It's great exposure though, and she's taking advantage by openly inviting Chinese pop diva Faye Wong (completely different genre) to join her for her next duet. Wong loved that song (big reason for the popularity), but it's not clear if she saw Gong's tweet yesterday with her 1+ million followers (would be 3+ million if she bothered to verify her account).

Speaking of Faye Wong, of course I'm obliged to use this song by American punk-rock group J Church to express how I (and millions) feel towards this 41-year-old who never spoke to her audiences, danced or used dancers during concerts
She sings her simple new wave songs with alien inspiration
I collect her photos from Yes! Communication
I don't know any titles of any of her songs
I thought I wouldn't like it but I found out I was wrong

I want to see Faye Wong
I want to see Faye Wong
I want to see Faye Wong
So I can try to sing along
I thought about traveling to Taipei (which I'd never been and isn't easy for a Chinese national) in January during school break just to see her, but they already sold out in fact her Taiwanese fans destroyed the online ticketing system (BTW her concerts in Beijing last week set sales records too, which shows you what kind of trash is going on in Chinese music today that you need a 40+yo who hasn't sang in 6 yrs to save the industry).

Hahaha, I thought the same... BTW, I don't understand the hype surrounding this song, if there is any?
It's a bit hysterical, isn't it? (I hope I'm not offending you by saying this, maybe it's because of cultural difference or something else, really don't know...)

I have always been jealous that smaller of two Belgrade's rivers and the one I always fancied more, doesn't have any song worth mentioning (AIPPOUG!)... So, here are two about Danube, or Dunav...

That was a brilliant performance Awesome facial expressions even though she's crossing her eyes in many instances
I'll find a way to perform this song to some Chinese friends here in the UAE and see what they think about it

... and doing "Da Da Da" from German band Trio

John Lennon's "Imagine" as a trilingual song -- Arabic (Cheb Khaled) Hebrew (Noa) and some English from Khaled's album "Kenza"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIqk7lK7vkM

There was a live version in "Taratata" in France with Khaled, Noa, but also Liane Foly, Faudel, Garou, Patrick Fiori, Luck Mervil, Julie Zenatti, Rachid Taha, Tina Arena, Julien Clerc, and Cheb Mami

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P7m-s59KWA

It might not be as good as the duo recording, but anyway since its been done, I'm putting the link. This rendition adds further languages like Spanish and French, Italian etc
