We're setting too much expectations on ourselves even if we send all PBA players, our chances of getting a spot is slim.

We should use this luck instead to expose the cadets/Calambubble folks (including the PBA players who joined) to better competition. That way, we can improve our basketball program

What's the point of sending an all PBA team here if majority of the players will just beg off in other international competitions?

An all PBA team isnt the best team available, its a mixture of vets and cadets. There is also downside risk for an all cadets squad. Getting blown out may start calls for massive changes before 2023. A mixed team carries the least risk considering likely outcomes.

Then they should just send the Calambubble folks. Hindi yung isasali bigla yung mga mahilig mag beg off sa international competitions. Kasi kung isasama mga mahilig mag beg off, we will have a hard time making changes, making correct assessment for the upcoming Asia Cup and 2023 WC

Gilas already submitted a request for pba players, problem is only 6 responded. These pba players kasi is being choosy on which tournament they’ll join. Nung para sa third window, tahimik sila. Pero nung narinig yung olympics, gusto na sumali.

If they are opening the pool again for all of the pba players, then gilas will need to hold practice sessions again to determine the best fit (which is the point of the calambubble earlier this year). All of that should then be finalized before the pba season starts if they will join the conference. All this work to cater to the whim of these players who did not respond to the country’s call in the first place.

Well Id argue the ones that didnt enter the bubble are smart. I mean international basketball during the pandemic was dumb much more when everyone is afraid of variants.

Baltazar and Thirdy are not ready for the bigger stage. Balti has barely any experience while Thirdy can't even make a dent in Japan with a cellar dweller team. Heck not even Kai too. Among the younger cadets I think only Dwight is ready to play with the big boys.

Then id argue that the situation is still the same when you compare january to now or even to june. Unless everyone playing in the oqt will be provided vaccine, then its still the same pandemic. If they didnt want to play back in january, then why do they want to play in june?

Pure cadets nalang. If it's pure PBA, high chances that it's another 1 week practice.The core of the cadets at least have been playing for a year now. Unless the SBP decides to send the entire Ginebra or TNT teams

Risk/Reward but yeah ideally everyone in the OQT should be vaccinated.
