And was he signed as an import of a Next Stars player? I'm thinking the latter given his age.

Shams said it clear in his tweet though

Kai Sotto — a 7-foot-2 prospect from the Philippines — is signing a multi-year deal with the Adelaide 36ers of the National Basketball League, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Sotto, who joined the G League Ignite roster this season, will be NBA Draft eligible STARTING 2022.

Means he is NOT YET DRAFT ELIGIBLE THIS YEAR

Kai's deal with 36ers is 2 years. Most likely coincides with 2023 World Cup, so Gilas is sure to have him (and the deal with Smart as well). Unless of course plans change midway. Still, Gilas is all in for 2023 which is cool.

This is a great news to fan, Lamelo ball path to NBA. NBL is a very good league. Very physical and athletic and will help him develop. The players there are very good, almost NBA caliber, almost equal to Gleague. Let us pray for his success in NBL towards his NBA dream.

Just noticed this now but did something happened to your account? I've had trouble logging in as of late too. I even had to take a 15 min timeout sometimes even though my account name and password is automatically filled out

Simple mali si analyze.haha maraming nasunog.

EWP and Ervin has been right all along.haha

Based on what is happening, Kai is really sought after. Mali din si JAMES WRITER GIVONY. That 2yr contract is most likely heading for a buy-out and not too limiting in case he will get drafted. We will expect Kai to play in the NBA on 2023 and he will be ready by that time.

His contract will also ensure that he will be available for Gilas during world cup 2023.

This is indeed best for Phil Bball. I told you EWP will be working round the clock for Kai.haha they didnt sound panicky and were always confident all these times.haha

What is adelaide’s plan for kai’s development? With their current frontcourt rotation, feels like kai will be third stringer behind johnson and humphries.
