One very important reason why the team was garbage was his awful defence. It's one thing to have no offensive talent at all, when you combine that with no defensive ability, then you are dead weight.

We looked much better with Ellis and Ellis is literally an average eurocup center.

No footwork, no outside shot, no defence outside the restricted area, no rim protection. 'One of the best centers in EL' because the only thing he can do is stay near the rim and get rebounds?

Admittedly, he's a solid rebounder. Overall maybe a decent 3rd option at the C position for euroleague teams?
It was not by accident that he was competing with Raduljica for minutes in Serbia, that's for sure.

CSKA should hire you to their scouting department. You could've helped them avoid giving €9 mil to a third center.

Toruko is being anti-Fenerbahçe as usual, that guy makes me laugh.

Efes is too unreliable with their 2 players depending (Larkin and Micic) style (I don't even call that a system, if they play bad or got injured, they fall behind of the top teams)

We will see what Barça will do with Saras, but I assume that won't be worse than the last year, it could be better. But they also change many things, playing with Calathes is a completely different system, especially now they don't have Tomic, they will play a different basketball. It could be worse or it could be better, we will see.

CSKA will be different after changing Kyle Hines and Vorontsevich with Shengelia and Milutinov. There might be a change in their system. Hackett is 1 year older and Clyburn might not be the same after his big injury.

Real looks all the same if they keep Campazzo, they might keep their position better than the other teams. But I don't know the situation about Campazzo.

Olympiacos will be better with Sloukas, if they manage to bench Spanoulis. I still see Olympiacos fans putting 37 years old Spanoulis on their no.1 guard in their roster, using Sloukas + Spanoulis would be a disaster defensively, Sloukas was never a good defender, and Spanoulis was never a two-sided (defense and offense) superstar like Diamantidis, he was always the greatest offensive player in Europe, but when he was young he was able to compensate that somehow, but now since 2 years, he is being a weak spot in the defense. If Olympiacos uses Sloukas + Jenkins more, that would be better, but we will see how they can play with each other.

If Pao is relying on Nedovic's performances, they would make a big mistake. He was never consistent (mostly because of injuries) before, they should think Nedovic as their no.2 guard. They also lost Calathes, which was the main player of their roster, the things will be very different for Pao as well.

We don't even know who will join Maccabi yet, they are not even finished with their roster.

Milan will be interesting again, especially adding veterans like Datome and Hines. And they will change many things after adding Delaney, and after losing Gudaitis.

In the end, it's too soon for every team. You should wait to talk at least 5 or 6 game weeks before making power rankings. We were the number 1 on paper in the previous season, and we see the result. No one give any chance to Efes after finishing in the bottom last place in 2018 season, then they played final four with Micic's surprising performances. As well as Zalgris always surprised people, just wait see what will happen.

They should, I could have prevented the Koufos debacle as well.

                1. Barca - The best roster
                2. CSKA - Stronger then last season
                3. Efes - They should bring better sg instead of 33y old ball hog Beaubouis to be No 1.
                4. Milano - Any team with Datome and Chacho must be among favorites for the title
                5. Real - Weaker then last season
                6. Olympiakos - Stronger for Sloukas
                7. Maccabi - I am not sure about them, maybe they are better then 7th
                8. Fener - Stronger for not having Williams, just that. Ulanovas is much worse then Datome, so we are on same level as last season. 8th spot
                9. Khimki - I don't believe in team with Shved as leading player
                10. Pao - I just noticed they brought White(my old wish for Fener). they should be better then 9th now.
                11. Valencia
                12. Zvezda
                13. Zenit
                14. Baskonia
                15. Bayern
                16. Zalgiris
                17. Alba
                18. Asvel

Ulanovas is not much worse than the last season's Datome, LOL.

Overall, of course Datome is much better, but we will never have the same Datome, he was losing his athleticism year by year. And athleticism is a very important factor in Datome's game. Ulanovas is 4 years younger, he can contribute as well as old Datome. Especially at defense.

I always thought he is good player but he is awful pg imo. Your quotes refer to my comments about his role in Fener. He should play as combo guard or pure sg.

This is my post about him before he moved to Oly. You could quote this too

Yes, it's almost impossible to be much worse than 8/3/1 player, who has barely moved in D.

it's too early to talk about Maccabi's power this year, as few things are unclear:
                          a) how well will Casspi, Bryant, Zoossman and DiBa recover from their injuries
                          b) How well Chris Jones will be integrated into the roster.
                          c) Who will be opening Center - if it's Zizic, then it's game changer, if it's some D-League center, it will be different - Hunter and Amare are not young and will struggle to keep up whole season.
                          d) Power forward question - again, how good (if any) Casspi will be, and if Acy stays another season.
                          e) less important, but nonetheless - how good Blayzer will be and if good game by Sandy Cohen in IL final was aberration, or he's really improving. And how successfully Sfairopulous will develop four junior players.
Otherwise, Maccabi retained most of the roster, so they should be able to compete for play-off place.
According to Walla, Maccabi should make an announcements about roster early next weeek, so we"ll see.
                          Yalla Maccabi!!!

You are talking about last season probably because you pick just what suits to your claims. In mad season where everything in Fener was in decline you are talking about Datome as 8-3-1 guy.

Are you ashamed at least a little bit for this words? If you watched 3 consecutive F4 where Fener participated, you could notice that Datome was always one of the best players. When it was the most important he was always there with his contribution. In 2019 season when Fener was the best team in regular season, his injury made Fener easy bite for Efes in semi. We missed just him in that game. So it's clear how important player he was.
Last season Obradovic forced Kalinic over him despite Kalinic had the worst season in his life. So your foolish 8-3-1 claim could be said in polite way as 53-43-92 player, I am talking about percentage of course.

Ulanovas replaced 2019/2020 Datome, who will be 1 year older this year, and not Datome in his prime. Ok, efficient 8/3/1. Datome regressed athletically a lot in last years, he’s not the same player as he used to be. Fener is not loosing much with his absence. 8/3/1 with bad D. is easy to replace. 43% for 3 might look great, but you need to replace only 1.5 3-pointers in 22.5 minutes played, not exactly impossible task. If someone would have been shooting 35% instead of 43% with Datome volume, the result would have been less than 1 point per game less. Having very bad rebounder for C. is much more problematic to solve. Vesely played less games, but Milutinov having 120 more rebounds than Vesely is enormous.

Datome offers nothing on defense or rebounding. He had a great career with Fener but he was also part of their problem last year.

Fener was one of the worst teams in EL last year in those areas. And they'll still probably struggle there because Vesley isn't an ideal C and Barthel and Ulanovas also aren't great in those areas, although Hamilton will help. Pierre appears to have solid rebounding numbers but that's at a lower level.

But Janketa overrates or underrates players based on how they play in playoff games.
