The 2-import per team format however of the Terrific-12 tournament isn't a good gauge of the real strengths of participating teams. The presence of the 2nd import would compensate for the deficiency of teams with inferior local players. I think a 1-import per team format will be better.

Realistically speaking though are PBA teams on par with teams from those leagues?

        To be honest, YES.

I'm confident PBA teams are very much at par with those pro teams from China, Korea, Japan. Let PBA teams, Chinese, Korean & Japanese pro teams battle each other, WITHOUT IMPORTS. I'm confident PBA teams would be a tough nut to crack.

In fairness, even the CBA teams were using the Terrific 12 to experiment with lineups and plays too.

Yup, in the game between SMB and Zhenshen.. the Aviators only played with one import (Jarred Sullinger was behind the bench in street clothes) it’s starting center, former national team player Li Muhao did not see action although he was in uniform.. while Lioaning is missing it’s 3 top local players in Chinese star PG Gou Ailun, Zhao Jiwei and Han “Chinese Shaq” Dejun

              Nabong played sparingly.

Seriously, even with the 3 a full team SMB can beat them like what Gilas did with Romeo going haywire. As most people say here SMB is as strong as or stronger Gilas.

true that, top tier PBA teams (SMB, TNT, BGSM, ROS) can hang with the best of Asia
