      • We've seen thirdy improve his game year after year. Next phase in his development is fully transitioning to a combo guard--mostly playing the 2 spot with a little bit of backup PG duties.

With his current trend in development, do you guys think he will surpass CJ perez come 2023?

Hmmm. Maybe but remains to be seen.

I think CJ is still ahead of Thirdy.

Before 2023, a lot of event/happenings can happen. Injuries, blossom career, being in prime, etc.

Yes! Thirdy is transitioning to a natural guard position, also helps he has guidance and mentors in kiefer and tab. If he plays well in Japan, it could open up doors in NBL or the g league, as money seems not to be an issue for the Ravenas.

Since CJ will be stuck in the pba and Ravena learning playing internationally and with his current projection, yes he can be much better than CJ in 2023.

i agree. Thirdy can ask for videos which our coaches could study.

CJ I think can transition in playing the point guard position, at this moment CJ is ahead of Thirdy on those terms. However, Thirdy may also acquire the ball handling skill and other skills that would help him transition in playing the point guard position. Quickness, I would say CJ is quicker than Thirdy but Thridy has more hops and has more strength than CJ. They need to excel both and improve their on ball defense.

Thirdy if im not mistaken was a 3 - 4 nung high school. even in Ateneo. and CJ was already a 2 - 3 nung college since baste days. so the development of Thirdy for me medyo mabagal pa. hope he could be a strong 2 guard or 1 sa B League.

Thirdy even played some minutes at the 5 to relieve Escaler and Big Mike. But his main playing position was the 4 cause he played with Aaron Black who was the same height as him but had better handles. So Aaron played the 3.

                        • Assuming Thirdy does well in Japan, any chance he can make it to the CBA?

Lots of high-level talent playing in that league including Kuya Andray.

That's the thing, he can play the point, but in the pba he is forced to play the 2 or 3 due to so many point guards in their roster.

                                [English Post Follows]
                                ----------
The B.LEAGUE(Japan Professional Basketball League) has further explained the eligibility conditions for players who can play as Asian Import in this upcoming season.
                                .
When the quota was first announced, it was lightly mentioned that players with dual nationalities and naturalized players would not be able to be considered as Asian Imports.
                                .
However, the league has come out to explain a bit more in detail that players with dual nationalities and naturalized players CAN play as Asian Imports if the their nationalities are of the 5 allowed countries: China, Korea, the Philippines, Chinese Taipei, and Indonesia.
                                .
As an example (to my understanding), players like Andray Blatche (Philippines nationality via naturalization) cannot be considered as an Asian Import in the B.League due to his US nationality. At the same time, players like Christian Standhardinger (dual nationality) cannot be considered as an Asian Import in the B.League due to his German nationality (not considered in the 5 allowed countries).
                                .
For an example of players who CAN play as an Asian Import in the B.League with dual nationality (or as a naturalized player) is Biboy Engiuo who is Filipino and Indonesian (both nationalities are of the allowed 5 countries).
                                .
I'm personally a bit disappointed about this, since it keeps out some talented players from consideration. However, I do understand where this B.League ruling is coming from, as an attempt to cooperate in developing locally groomed players in Asia.
                                .
