Well, not really. He is 3pt shooting % is quite dismal but I would just give some slack (just my realization).

Strictly speaking, YES. Because he’s a basketball player with Philippine citizenship who failed to declare for the PBA draft within two years of the expiration of his college eligibility.

          • Seriously though, are there no other college Philippine players who are of eligible age that have not yet joined draft ?
            Why Thirdy only?
What about the players in the provinces?

Correct. This move by Marcial & the PBA is in violation of the Constitution. And also, how does Marcial or the PBA consider a player as a "dodger"? Shouldn't Joshua Munzon & Mikey Williams be considered as dodgers as well? Matagal na sila eligible for the PBA & yet they applied for the PBA draft only this year.

I could only sense that SMC people are behind this move.

              • If only there's no age restriction in applying in the PBA draft, then Kai Sotto should have been considered a "dodger" & should have been banned forever from entering the PBA.

But wait, si Kai Sotto yun eh! Why ban him from the PBA for being a "dodger"?

no. it only applies to college graduates in the philippines. only for known high caliber players.

if im not mistaken this is because thirdy is expected to be a top first pick.

And it is also the duty of all players who had entered and played in PBA even with an expired contract to still continue to play in PBA even if the players don't want to play for a while. And also can't play in other leagues outside PBA even with an expired contract..

JC needs to play in PBA D-League for 2 conferences wayback in 2014 if he wanted to play in PBA in that time..

                            • The policy for draft dodging as a whole is one big gray area. PBA mgmt has the right to enforce it to whomever they choose. It was written that way and was intended to be implemented that way. The whole point is for prospects to kowtow to pba mgmt.

So essentially Thirdy is penalized and disadvantage because he played college in the Philippines and he's too good (top pick prospect)
