Luckily as a math PhD student I can work remotely easily.
Most of my mornings are spent playing Warzone and Apex Legends (because my friends from Greece are off work), then some studying, and then shows: Magicians, Witcher, Brooklyn 99

darivate x^x and integrate exp(-x²) or it didnt happen.

Actually, I do complexity theory and cryptography (so, discrete mathematics).
Embarrassingly, I would have to look up the derivative of x^x but I would bet that it needs some sort of transformation

Great, exp(-x²) doesnt have an Antiderivative and can just be integrated but since you discrete mathematics you should be able to solve this problem with numerical analysis.
I have been studying math myself but it was too theoretical so i switched to computer science but still interested in math. I know now why i like you.
I also installed "the secret of the monkey island" to play . let's see if I can enjoy it again as much as I did ages ago.
Ohhhhh god I just saw this! I remember my teenage years, laughing like an idiot in front of my Pentium II screen playing Escape from Monkey Island (I went backwards).

There's actually a documentary on Amazon about Milano's Keifer Sykes called Chi-Town. Follows him from high school into college and then trying to make the NBA.
that sounds interesting, the very Sykes that I was bashing on about his game . Let's recommend it to Katastroika, too. The documentary cannot obviously have the ideal happy ending, but making it as a pro EL player is not bad, either.
how do you come accross with all these mate? you're good.
I never played Monkey Island but I know it's considered a classic. I do play a bit of Football Manager though.
I don't actually have more time than before, for now, but the mood is different.
Monkey Island is a classic indeed, and watching Stuart Brown's amazing video (Ahoy on youtube) about it re-kindled the flame. So I installed the remastered version (and played just a little).
"what makes a game classic? is it the number of copies sold? or the review scores it receives? maybe something not quantifiable, something special, something magic. whatever it is, I think, the secret of monkey island qualifies"

haha, yes, cannot say the best but probably the most charming game series I've ever played.

Ha, yes, but it wasn't personal bashing or even about talent, just about his shot selection iirc.
I do enjoy a basketball (or sport in general) documentary so I tend to search them out. I hadn't heard about about the Keifer one until then. The basketball is a big part of it but also family and it does a good job of showing how dangerous that part of Chicago is and the pitfalls young people face as they try to progress. (Although that's obviously not unique just to the West side of Chicago, unfortunately.)
I am watching the classic playoff series from 2000 NBA Playoffs between LA Lakers and Portland Trailblazers now. I have few more ready.
- 2001 NBA Playoffs - 7 game series between Toronto and Philly
- 2001 NBA Playoffs - 7 game series between Milwaukee and Philly
- 2003 NBA Playoffs - 7 game series between Dallas and Sacramento (I am skipping 2002 WC Finals for health reasons, it's a disgusting rewatch of a robbery).
- 2004 NBA Playoffs - 7 game series between Detroit and New Jersey (I highly recommend this one, with a fantastic Game 5 triple OT).
I will be adding more if someone is interested in doing something like this...
