The roster has too many deficiencies. The worst individual defenders in the league all grouped up.

The only constants are Calathes, Thomas, Papapetrou and now Papagiannis. The rest are hit and miss. Pitino is a coach. Not a magician. Ok he's screws up too here and there but it's not his fault for the roster that was badly constructed.

Freddete has been found out and targeted constantly. My brother was at the game and he told me that Fredette the worst defender he's ever seen. He lost his player a few time and tried to defend with his back turned. Wes Johnson...if I write what I think of him, I'll be banned from the forum. Pappas is another ex-player on 800.000 euros. The lis goes on.

I haven't watched whole game, only first quarter and re-caps of course (Israeli TV and EL), but it looked to me that Maccabi just tried to outscore and out-stop Valencia without targeting particular players, same happened with Khimki, and Fener. To be honest, I'm not overly impressed with game flow lately, but taking in account injuries, etc, results are pretty good.

That and all those open 3's Maccabi gave (which Valencia made)
And the open 3's Maccabi missed
Again, I'm not impressed of defence of 3 pointers after Maccabi lost Wolters and Zussman - automatic switch leaves Hunter or Reynolds far from 3p line and almost always gives opponent free shot. Before that defenders didn't switch, but aggressively gone through the screen or fast around it.... I hope to see improvement when Zussman returns, or Avdija and Bryant step up.

Kind of a steal they won
I don't think it's a steal - not more than previous game against Fener. And well, you know, Maccabi never looses game, when scoreboard shows 78:77

Valencia a very serious team. Like, they are very consistent - which is also a problem: I can see them always getting a playoff spot but also never beating a team that has more "shine".
They lack star, and other teams will not permit them so many free 3 pointers, as Maccabi did.
    Yalla Maccabi!!!

    Save English, ban macabeo....

PAO got much more from an injury prone Lojeski than they have from Johnson.

Pitino not happy with several player's conditioning- "Summers aren't for Mykonos, Santorini and Crete."

Pao should build a smaller arena. 14.000 seats or so. And not offer cheap thrill tickets to gate 13 anymore. Let them hang around in football games. The atmosphere will still be warm, but civilized. Perhaps 10 years from now they can be part of the European teams which will constitute a European Division in the NBA.

I don't know the last time you went to a game but the cheapest tickets for anyone are 20 euros (except for Oly, Barca, RM, Fener and CSKA games when the cheapest ticket is 40 euros). What has G13 got to do with the referees been attacked? Do you have evidence? Maybe dpg sent his cronies. After all he's threatened both opposing players and officials in the not too distant past. At the end of the day, who is Gate 13? Is it one person? It is 100? Is it 1000 or is it 10.000? So whoever sits with G13 is a criminal, are they?

DPG has successfully fucked up the hottest arena in Europe pricing out most fans either they sit with G13 or a father and his two sons who have to pay 120 euros to watch the game yesterday. Under Thanasis and Pavlos I would pay 120 euros for the season and that included at least 4 games against Oly, now the cheapest is 250 (and no Oly) Season tickets this year are down 20% and ticket sales 25%. He might as well hire Maroussi sports arena which fits 2000 for this friends, middle class and rich fans. The OAKA is a church this year.

    Sorry but no.
Lamonica for two decades is the most disgusting and most corupted refferee in european basketball.
    Can anyone state otherwise?
    Please do, I beg you.
Only his mother, family and friends can defend him and his actions.
Refferee for every dirty task and assignment.
For what he did to us in 2005., but also to many other teams and fans before and after, in ancient Rome he would be crucified or stoned to death.
One thing are mistakes and completely other things are deliberate actions against someone.
Don’t feel pity for him at all, and no one should feel pity for the bastard.
What is the difference between him being attacked or some no name being attacked.
I feel pity more for the unknown person then for him.
    No regret. No remorse.
    Never forgive. Never forget.

Not everyone has to like Lamonica and his eccentric personality, but in 2008 or 09 me and my friend were a couple "fanatic" 19 year old maccabi fans who waited for Lamonica after a game ready to let him know exactly what we think about him (don't remember who we played but we lost). The guy immediately put his bag on the floor and spent good 10-15 minutes analyzing the last plays with us outside gate 9, explaining his point of view about the controversial plays and officiating EL general like a perfect gentleman. not even close to being a disgusting person.

Wow, how ''shocking'', I wonder who is behind the....attack

But hey, guess what Jordi and the Euroleague authorities, you pretended that nothing happened last year at OAKA with the referees of the Panathinaikos-Olympiacos game, so nothing happened now

A pidgeon attacked and injured Lamonica

Nothing worth mentioning when you call for PHYSICAL VIOLENCE against other people and justify it. I would have told the same to everyone else calling for it against everyone else.Ridiculous. But as you like to say so often at ongoing discussions - it's senseless.

PS: It wasn't two days ago, but it sounds better for sure in this context. "Kudos".
