's embarrassing how poorly the G-League has represented the US in the Intercontinental Cup. Last year, the Austin Spurs got blown away and this year the Rio Grande Vipers fared only slightly better. The G-League is now 0-4 with a 19 point average margin of defeat. Granted, G-League rosters are in constant flux because of call-ups and player turnover, but in the birthplace of basketball, the quality of play against organized, professional teams from overseas is woefully bad. Yes, these G-Leaguers are playing by FIBA rules, and yes these players aren't playing on home soil...but our minor league players should exhibit more competitiveness. These results only perpetuate the narrative that American players can't play creative, team oriented basketball.
