  • Euroleague Regular Season: Week 19

    CSKA Moscow - Real Madrid
    Khimki - Valencia Basket
Anadolu Efes - AX Armani Milan
    Fenerbahce - ASVEL Villeurbanne
    Olympiacos - ALBA Berlin
Maccabi Tel Aviv - FC Barcelona
    Zenit St Petersburg - Baskonia
    Crvena Zvezda - Zalgiris
    Panathinaikos - Bayern Munich

Another hell week kicking off on Tuesday.

CSKA- RM shines among the games and well as the MTA-Barca match up. Both very juicy games for the neutral fan.

Andy Rautins (PAO), Howard San Roos (CSKA), coach Giorgos Bartzokas, Vasilis Charalampopoulos (OLY) are the new faces this week.

CSKA Moscow - Real Madrid ? - ? (Game of the month for my team. Unpredictable for me. On the one hand, Real is a much better and organized team, but at home CSKA will be very motivated. So, it may go either way)
Khimki - Valencia Basket 50 - 50 (Seems like Khimki should win this game easily, but this team is proving time and again that they can lose to anyone)
      Anadolu Efes - AX Armani Milan 70 - 30
      Fenerbahce - ASVEL Villeurbanne 55 - 45
      Olympiacos - ALBA Berlin 55 - 45
Maccabi Tel Aviv - FC Barcelona 50 - 50 (IMO despite having great players, Barca's roster is overestimated. A well organized and motivated team has good chances to win against them)
      Zenit St Petersburg - Baskonia 60 - 40
      Crvena Zvezda - Zalgiris 60 - 40 (HCA rules)
      Panathinaikos - Bayern Munich 70 - 30

Zvezda with this injury trouble is if just a minimal favourite against Zalgiris. Complete open game to me.

Zalgiris is 5th best offensive rebounding team (factor that will have major impact tomorrow), but worst 3 point shooting percentage in all EL (and their best shooter is missing), one of fewest assist per game statlines and 5th worst offense. It will be a dogfight as always against team.

Overall statistics between zvezda and Zalgiris since 1998: 5-4 Zalgiris.

I know this is a little off topic but it does deal with Zalgiris. I work at a college in the US that has a student who won a scholarship from CGTrader. The employee who I am in contact with in Vilnius will be attending the Zalgiris game next week. He (I think--Juste is the first name) was suprised when I asked him about Zalgiris. Just to show what a small world we have become.

Fenerbahçe in 2nd quarter today had one of the most hungry and dominant performances we have seen from them in a while. Of course it is only against Asvel... But seriously, just watch it if you have time
