I bet Saudi Arabia would defeat Qatar by 8 pts.

Kazakhstan over Palestine by 12 pts.

Kaz has naturalized player Anthony Clemons & has brought back Anton Ponomarev from retirement. Holdovers Zhigulin, Gavrilov, Bykov, are also in the roster.

Who is their coach? I know their millenial coach was already out. It depends on how the coach will use their players. For now, i am palestine giving palestine the upperhand because kazakh players tend to play erratic basketball based on their last few outings. Their win against the philippines was just a fluke since kalbo underestimated them (so lack of foresight was a factor).

Kazahkstan is every coaches dream team, unheralded but very capable especially with an american point guard
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                  1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

This other thread should be for the other Asian teams which will be a potential opponent in the near future, maybe a re branding/renaming is necessary.

Actually, i am waiting for the mods about the verdict with this thread. If they close it down, it's fine but nobody is closing it. Haha

Koreans have are very confident and quick shooters.I wish we could beat this team again. Gilas beat Indonesia 97-67 in the SEA Games, the Koreans beat them 109-76.

                          Chinese-Taipei final 12:

                          C Tseng Hsiang-Chun 6'7
                          F Chou Po-Chen 6'6
                          C Chen Kuan-Chuan 6'5
                          G Huang Tsung-Han 6'4
                          F Hu Long-Mao 6'4
                          F Lu Cheng-Ju 6'4
                          F Huang Jhen 6'3
                          F Huang Hung-Han 6'3
                          F Chou Yi-Hsiang 6'3
                          F Chi Lee-Wei 6'3
                          G Chen Ying-Chun 5'11
                          G Chiang Yu-An 5'9

This is a wing-heavy team. Not tall but not short. It is also expected to them to rely on the perimeter given that they pretty undersized at power forward and center positions.

Only Lu Cheng-Ju is above 30 years old so this is also a relatively young team but also relatively experienced team from fiba asia challenge cup 2016, fiba asia cup 2017, fiba world cup qualifying windows and asian games in their bags (they used core of this 2020 team in one of these events). I expect them perform better in fiba asia cup qualifiers.

Hope that charlie parker has drawn a good gameplan since they are up against powerhouse teams of japan and china.

The Philippines-Thailand and Japan-China-Games are not cancelled but postponed. So you can still make predictions about them.

Taiwan has become weaker at the frontcourt (& as a team) with the retirement of bigs Tseng Win Teng, Wu Tao Hao & Tiel Lei (stretch-4).

Only Hu Long Mao could be considered somewhat a quality "four" in the current Taiwan NT. He has improved significantly in the last few years. Hu however is a bit of an undersized "four" in FIBA basketball.

Won't be a problem against Malaysia. They're just lucky they have one cupcake opponent this window
