Mapua MBT is still having difficulty in recruiting of blue-chip players like SBU and Letran. (Our school is stingy when it comes to financial support). And since there's no more FSA's, team recruited 3 former TIP players (6'6 Santos, 6'3 Soriano and 6'4 Navarro).

In Leo Isaac era, we had Kelvin dela Pena but not enough to carry the team to championship. In Chito’s time, we had Yousef Taja and Josan Nimes but the team is not that strong coz other schools are catching up of recruiting good players. Atoy Co had Allwell Oraeme lol but after that, the school did not have any FSA. Afaik, the school are getting their players from that Kapampangan Navarro (not sure if still part of DLSU coaching staff) and some of Randy Alcantara’s connection (Ayo).
Our team B and Red Robins are also good team. Japeth played in the Red Robins but another big named Galinato is far better than him. We’re getting used to it that our junior players will not commit to MIT right after they completed their high school diploma. Example of these are: Mark Telan, Japeth Aguilar, Galinato, Dela Cruz, Mike Enriquez, Sherwin Concepcion, Clint Escamis, and Jonel Policarpio.sigpic

During the pre-Malayan era, we have good players especially in that Season 77 (2001). We made it to the Final 4 but only losing by close margin against the twice -to-beat Baste (bannered by Mark Macapagal, 6-7 Pep Moore, Alfad & Coronel). We have guys like 6-3 Feliciano, 6-5 Steve Marucot, 6-6 Robert Dula, 6-7 Rojas, Jeff Matin, and 3Pt specialist Robert Lagar and Erwin Sta.Maria (played in Phil Patriots in ABL) with head coach Horacio Lim.

But most of them are getting management or non-engineering courses.
A decade ago, players were taking up engineering courses.sigpic
