I dont think anyone watches the NCAA to be fair.

The NCAA champion team would get blown out by the uaap champs by 20+

People could argue that the NCAA produces good players, that's fine. What people such as Tuck and all the others are saying is that in recent years I think it's pretty clear that the level of competition in the UAAP is higher lol, so many teams suck every year, and the UAAP has way better parity. That's all anyone's been saying lol no one's denying San Beda is great but their competition is way more inferior.

take for example NU.. they may have the worst record last season almost all of their losses are very close margins..

                • After six years with San Beda, Evan Nelle has decided to return home to La Salle. Tuesday morning, the 5-foot-10 guard confirmed that he is moving out of Mendiola and heading to Taft. He also cited that he needed to pave a new path in his career and move out of his comfort zone. “I […]

QFT. This is what I'm saying. Currently, San Beda is a mega jumbo fish in a smaller pond. Even tourneys such as the Filoil, PCCL etc. do not accurately measure their relative strength due to certain factors, such as the aforesaid 2-import rule (to the no-import rule starting next season), the schedule of FilOil (NCAA teams tend to do better here because their season is about to start whereas UAAP teams are just starting their preps), the schedule of PCCL (NCAA players who got drafted move on to the PBA already) etc.

So unless and until San Beda moves to the bigger pond, the inferior competition that they face will always hang over their heads, no matter how many head-to-head matchups they win against UAAP teams in pre/post-season leagues.

Again, this is not an attack against San Beda. They're really good. It's more of a knock against the NCAA.

to be fair, there are NCAA players not included in the WC pool who are arguably better prospects than some UAAP players. oftana comes to mind.

but yes, the UAAP is definitely the more talent laden team. as stacked as ateneo is, other UAAP contenders are also overflowing with talent. same could not be said for the ncaa which only has 2-3 teams that could make a dent in the UAAP. san beda tho would be contenders in the UAAP but they would be as dominating as they were in the NCAA.

That is true, Oftana definitely deserves consideration for current NCAA players, and guys like Mike Nieto and Jaydee Tungcab could be replaced by players such as those. But for the recently graduated players, the really good guard, wing and big prospects mostly come from the UAAP.
