Slaughter would have been valuable last night against Serbias Radjulika, Boban... You see Serbian are not that quick, nor athletic but player movement is so precise and well choreograph that make each player a threat... Masyado tayo masanay sa NBA na dapat ang player has good one on one slashing moves without realizing that equallly important is the abilitu to move without the ball... Now going back to Slaughter, Slaughter would have been more valuable defensively over Boban, Radjulika type compared to Japhet, Almazan and Erram, ang ninipis eh...Halos wala nga rin PNR Serbia kagabi, Hard cut and pass then shot... Coaching lang talaga ang problem... Walang plano sa offense... THE defense is equally uncoordinated...

^Im not sold on Slaughter. He's even slower and more flat footed than Fajardo. I've seen Radjulika play better from last night and was not able to truly showcase his game because of the tight rotation and deep bench of Serbia. Kakainin nya ng buhay si Slaughter.

As for the thread topic, I dont see any prospective FIBA elite centers right now in the Philippines. I cannot yet gauge Kai because he's still raw and young for the seniors. Probably AJ Edu has better defensive instincts than Kai.

Agree with this.. AJ (lead his conference in Blks) is currently our best prospect (2021 beyond) to play international FIBA center ( emphasis defense) among eligible players.

i hope lantaya (actually looks sf), quiambao and the fil-italian teen will play better alongside kai. chiu as well. these kids will be our future prospects. but for now, edu is our best prospect in 2023.

however, aj edu will be more of a power forward and a small ball center.

Being real lantaya will at most be a pf. NU needs those championships.

Is this in their prime? Because if not I’d remove Quincy Davis from the list as he couldn’t even stop Junmar defensively.

Notbas much though kung panu nia nilamon si Almazan at Aguilar. SLAUGHTER'S height and weight will bother Radjulika more than the thin bodies of Japs and Almazan.

It's based on my most recent recollection of the player , i saw Davis play last year, while I agree he would have trouble stopping JM, I still trust him more to play both ends of the court ( defense and offense) for extended minutes ( 30 min) compared to JM. Here is the thing , in FIBA.. Davis has more expereince playing extensiive minutes on both ends compared to JM.. ( the verdict is really still out if JM played extended minutes in FIBA if he can hide his lack of PNR defense from teams that will defiintely try to expose that weakness)

Who is this Adams at No. 10? Steven? How many times did he refuse to play for Team NZ?

Unfortunately you're correct naman, BTW a number of Australians don't play for Boomers cause they're so many good bugs, they're like the Team USA for the World in our region, where their 15th or 20th best center would be a starter for most Asian teams, one of the reasons is the huge refugee Senagese and other African migrants in Australia
Note also the influx of Serbian Eastern Europe migrants in Australia (Bogut as an example), and
Big Pacific inland players. (Tonga) like Adams and Asi, that's why it really isn't a surprise why they're so many quality bigs
Note also our best prospect is African decent (AJ)

The key take away from putting the list together, is you will note that many of the centers currently play in Asia Pacific Pro leagues
                            CBA - Haddadi
ANBL- Majok (local), Loe, Bogut etc

Of course the others play in Europe or NBA.

For Philippine big men to keep up and develop they Have to play in these leagues (there is really no other way). Note the leagues are already in the region Australia and China

It's up to us really, we can ignore this reality or keep up to the times

Even Mick Pennisi an unknown in Australia was considered a good center in PBA..Andrew Gaze was even shocked when he saw Mick playing for team Pilipinas in their exhibition game in the mid 2000s.. His younger if Im not mistaken a former NBL rookie of the year David didn't even entertained the idea of him playing in PBA..
