Disciplined defense is the key... Kung lalamya lamya sa depensa team natin vs Korea then they can still shoot the lights out...

When did we not attack people on the internet? We convincingly won against the Thais and they still got trashed by Pinoys online.

Honestly we could have beaten Korea a lot in the past but we didn't. We certainly has the talent to do it. Even Iran has been the tougher match up for us but Korea always found a way to beat us. Well we kinda did make it easier for them with our lack of prep time and "system"

Well, swerte ng Pinoy netizens online that Thais don't care too much on basketball.. So football kasi mas malala mang trashtalk Thailand eh, same as Vietnamese and Indons.. Kinakawawa nila Pinoys in football pages.. Ang di nila alam that Pinoys don't care too much of football...

Non issue, korea won in asian games on Iran in 2014 and korea has beaten china in 2002 with yao king at helm..kumabaga they didnt treat it as a curse, it serves to them as a motivation to get better..

They won but that is only 1 game.. China and Iran beat them consistently since then... Actually medyo controversial pa yung game na yan, Especially nung 2014 Asiad, A lot of questionable calls that is favor for Korea especially in final minutes of the game.. Kailangan host pa sila to have a chance to beat these two... After that eh they can't beat these two especially in opponents court or in neutral venue...

We also have to take into consideration that the Gilas team in the 1st window, although it had some PBA players like CJ Perez, Kiefer, Erram, Troy, Pogoy, Chua, etc., it only had about 2 weeks of preparation. On the other hand, the current Gilas team will have about 3 months of training (counting the 2-week training it had in the 2nd window) for the 3rd window.

I say, composition-wise mas malakas ang Gilas team in the 1st window, but preparation-wise the 3rd window-bound Gilas team is significantly better.

I think that Thailand already conceded this qualifiers. With bad luck to them that they were undermanned last window. The fact they were up against Gilas twice and a souped up Indonesia did not also help them.

This window, they are going to faced a very much prepared Indonesian squad and an always formidable South Korea. Even with Lamb, they don't stand a chance against Korea and Indonesian team with Prosper and Jawato.

Cardo Rattlife is what, 6-foot-8? Hadadi is a legit 7-foot-2 while Zhou Qi is 7-foot-1 with a ridiculous wingspan. Hadadi or Zhou Qi would easily limit Cardo's effectiveness inside. No matter how skilled & strong Cardo is, the height & length of Hadadi or Zhou Qi would easily bother them. The thing about Cardo is that, he's a traditional big man. A post-up player with a decent mid-range shot. That is the kind of big man that is vulnerable to the defense of legit 7-foot & skilled centers like Hadadi & Zhou Qi. Cardo is no Dray Blatche or a Porzingis.

The way I see it, having a very potent rim protector will be a key factor in beating the stubborn Koreans. With potent rim protectors, Korea's vaunted drive-and-kick-out-to-the-shooter plays would be neutralized becoz the guard & wing defenders won't need to collapse in the middle everytime a Korean player slashes to the lane dahil bahala na ang rim protector magdepensa sa slasher. The guards & wing defenders would just have to stay in front of their men in the 3-pt. area or perimeter.

    Correct.

That 2 loses to Gilas & a loss to Indonesia in the 2nd window was turning point for Thailand.

I wonder if Thailand can still battle it out on the second qualifying round? After all, Indonesia is guaranteed a spot?!

Doable, but Thailand would be needing a Tyler Lamb & their top local players (kung pwede pati si Justin Bassey) to get the job done. No easy job for sure.

Korea is nearly a medalist in every FIBA or Asian games. Props to the NT for being competitive against them. They are the Spurs of Asia based on military background, discipline, ball movement, and a group oriented play.

    FIBA Asia rankings

    Tier 1: Australia

Tier 2: (No order and match up-style based ala rock paper scissors )

    Korea
    New Zealand
    China
    Iran

**Japan (Due to talent but can also be a rank lower) **

Tier 3: ( Top heavy teams, Inconsistent preparations, recruitment based, and faulty programs in short a year to year basis also match up based)

    Philippines
    Jordan
    Lebanon
    Qatar
