Do note the U16 passport rule, provides leeway if expression of intent to apply for naturalization and acquiring a passport is made around 16. FIBA does give consideration to the lengthly beucacratic process required by each governments laws, (if ours states naturalization is only possible by 21 yrs old) then that is taken into account for exemptions, It's the principle of the rule that is most important. And in this case Philippine resident and developed Kouame has expressed intent to be naturalized as a minor with the approval of his only parent (mom)

indonesia federation failed their strategy to re-schedule the games. Prosper and Jawato papers are not yet cleared.

Damn. They will have their asses handed to them if they only have 8 healthy players and you remove Prosper and Jawato.

tho its not yet confirmed. but it looks like their papers are not yet cleared. i just translated the comment section in mainbasket IG. indon fans still have no idea hows the papers of their players. according to them its part of their strategy to re-schedule the games because of the virus. but their documents is the reason thats why. the FIBA wants to continue the scheduled games.

So I just looked at the potential 3rd place finishers of each group. Even with Prosper and the other guy its still a very very tough road for Indonesia as they have to beat Guam at the very least to qualify.

Group A - Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, Guam

Group B - Iraq, Saudi, Palestine

Confirmed - still at Widodo's table. Dude hasn't signed it so they'll use an all-local squad.

Tough luck for Indonesia. I don't see them winning against Chinese-Taipei especially this is their team A. You know, indonesia has a history of getting butchered by east asian teams (japan, korea, china and chinese-taipei).

Group B is absolutely a death match.

    from mainbasket IG
“ Derrick Michael Xzavierro and Muhammad Arighi will most likely enter the national team squad who will compete in the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers on 20 and 23 February in Jakarta later. We got this information from the National Team Manager. They will fill the place previously filled by Lester Prosper and Brandon Jawato who cannot play because their naturalization process has not yet been completed”

    no jawato and prosper.
