Yes i think he is eligible to play for the national team. But i think he is referring to Cholo's age who is 17 turning 18 this year.

This kid should play as purely small forward. If this kid is about to turn 18 & only around 6-foot-4/6-foot-5, I don't expect him to reach 6-foot-7 or 6-foot-8. So the ideal thing is for him to play as a small forward to be a good National team material.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

The problem is which high school coach would allow them to play purely SF or the wing? Wala naman.. It's wishful thinking

Even Tuffin whose a natural SF (played SF since high school when he learned the game) is now being forced to play PF in college

Just two years ago, Ateneo Eaglets had a starting lineup of Kai, Berjay, Credo Dave Ildefonso and Belangel..

This partly allowed Dave to stay at SG at 6'4. The SF above were 6'5 above IRC. Most HS will have 6'4 as their tallest or 2nd tallest guy. He will have to play PF at the least.

Poor kid has not even reach Collegiate ball yet and he is already crucified by IBN peps,

I hope this kid improves and show everyone in this forum that he was chosen as one of young ballers to represent the country because he is one of our top prospects...

i remember he played well in uaap 2nd round last season and when final four comes and padrigao played poorly for some reasons, and this some ibn members crucify him but they’re quiet when padrigao is doing well during the 2nd round of uaap last season.. and those members are the one who even didn’t watch a single game of ateneo HS last season 2nd round and they watched the final four..

Damn so pretty much no one is left to help out the BG core of forthsky, joshua lazaro, raven and kai aside from this year's u16 team of torcoulas, lopez. Lantaya, Policarpio and Anonuevo age ineligble. No key fil-foreigns like travis roberts and jt tan.

Hey we still have Lowell Briones Jr. 6'5 PG, Harold Alarcon 6'1 SG, the much awaited debut of Ethan Kirkness 6'11 C who will go to UP soon and probably more revelations this year and next year.

                                PG:Lowell Briones Jr. 6'5/Forthsky Padrigao 6'1
                                SG:Ice Hontiveros 6'3/Harold Alarcon 6'1/Aldous Torculas 6'4
                                SF:Joshua Lazaro 6'5/Lebron Lopez 6'6
                                PF:Raven Cortez 6'7/PJ Palacielo 6'6
                                C:Kai Sotto 7'2/Seven Gagate 6'7/Ethan Kirkness 6'11

                                Still not a bad lineup.
