It always comes up as 6'5 when I google it. Europeans usually list barefoot height. So he can be 6'6 with shoes.

As usual, SBP is still "quietly" in talks with FIBA about including Jordan as a non-naturalized Filipino player. Hoping it works out eventually.

That was a given tho,the way Yeng hide his guards on offense to get around the height of the defenders, but it still shows that no matter how good a small PGs in the PBA is still a problem defensively,JC is an exemption of course,he adjusted in international games, but as we've seen in the France and NZ,they adjusted by clogging the passing lane with taller guards, making him dribble more to see some daylight, thus wasting more time.

Remy is a pretty good defender, hopefully yeng calls him up. Clarkson on the team would definitely help too

Our chances are better now as compared to 2014, where we played 5 teams, the change from 26 to 32 teams has waterdowned the target of making the 2nd round, Yeng is really quite lucky really as the standards have gone down, first making the world Cup in 2013 was much more difficult than the qualifiers where we were last to make it, and second winning a game or even making the 2nd round in this year's world Cup isn't the same as in 2014.
It's kind of misleading to conclude that Yeng has done a good job by qualifying for the world Cup and even if he wins a game. Reality is that's all dependent or a result of Blatche and Clarkson, (2 players who have not even spent living in the Philippines straight for more than a month, really not a reflection of our quality of basketball output or product)

Did you know that national basketball team of Serbia will hold their preparation training for the WC 2019 in China on Kopaonik this summer?

    CHINA AND CROATIA

Team China is embracing the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas as a valuable test ahead of hosting the FIBA World Cup.

The Chinese Basketball Association and NBA jointly announced on Thursday that the Chinese national team will join all 30 NBA teams and the Croatia national squad in the NBA Summer League 2019, marking the first time the tournament-style competition will feature two international entrants.

The 15th edition of the summer league tips off on July 5, with the 32 teams each playing four preliminary games at the Thomas& Mack Center and Cox Pavilion at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.

The top eight teams advance to a single-elimination round, with the championship game on July 15.

Teams failing to qualify for the final eight will each play an extra consolation game.

The high-intensity schedule fits perfectly with Team China's preparation for the Aug 31-Sept 15 World Cup, said head coach Li Nan.

This will be the second time Team China participates in the summer league, following its 2007 debut ahead of the 2008 Beijing Games.

As part of its commitment to the national team, the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is eyeing to give Gilas players and coach Yeng Guiao a 10-day break to gear up for the 2019 FIBA World Cup, Commissioner Willie Marcial said.

The PBA Commissioner's Cup is scheduled to end midway August, giving Gilas members almost two weeks to train before flying to China for the World Cup which will commence on August 31.

Marcial said the PBA board and team owners are working closely to support the Gilas contingent as they prepare for second consecutive World Cup appearance.

"Malaki ang sakripisyo ng PBA para sa Gilas. Sinusuportahan talaga sila ng buong board at lahat 'yung team owners," Marcial said on Saturday in the 2019 PBA All-Star event in Pangasinan.

The commissioner also offered the coaching staff of Gilas to pick whoever they want for the team.

"Kuhanin nila gusto nilang players, kahit anong oras sila magpractice. Bibigyan namin sila ng 10-12 days na break," Marcial said

“Parang nakukulangan ako dun,” Guiao admitted Friday after his PBA team NLEX was eliminated by Alaska in a playoff for the eighth and final Philippine Cup quarterfinals berth at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Siguro dapat more than 10 days yung full (training). We still have to talk with the PBA about it, but as much as possible we want something more than 10 days,” he added

its not really "quietly" if it keeps getting reported in media outlets and some official keeps updating it every now and then.. "quietly" should have meant that we didnt know about it. haha

Quietly simply means no public campaign especially on social media to clear JC as a local, (that will only hurt and bring attention to China the host), internal lobbying with FiBA officials is the only thing beneficial.
Of course no one can control media to talk about it. It is not like SBP officials are making public release statements about it or are they?

They make it sound like the PBA sacrificed a lot to give GILAS the 10 days prep time LOL.

I'd prefer we also send college standouts as part of the Sea games team. But I digress

Its just pathetic that our basketball stakeholders would rather please the PBA big bosses than represent the name of our country decently.

And its like we should be very grateful for their consideration. Disgusting.
