Yeah it’s just a popularity contest and the game itself is unwatchable. Being named an all-star carries no merit. Players selected to the 3 All NBA teams is the real indicator of excellence. And the top 5 in the MVP voting each year is the cream of the crop.

-Luka Doncic and Paul George surpasses Kevin Durant - Western Conference Frontcourt

-Derick Rose surpasses James Harden - Western Conference Guards

-D-Wade surpasses Kemba Walker, Ben Simmons, Victor Oladipo - Eastern Conference Guards

Old D-Wade doesn't deserve to be on the first 5 in All-star, it shows how weak the Eastern conference has really become, there isn't a single super-star who can surpass D-Wade's shadow at the east. However,

Doncic / George surpassing Kevin Durant; ''maybe''... Since Durant isn't exactly at his best and Doncic / George overperformed on this year (still Durant has better statistics than both),

Derick Rose surpassing James Harden must be a big bad joke.

yes, but this is only the fans' voting, weighted at 50%, not the final ranking. the remaining 50% will be decided by the players and the media (25% each).

I think the fans votes are ridiculous too, but with drafting, which will be televised this time, the game can get more competitive.

The only value of this weekend is that it is here that alliances between players are formed. They basically decide where they will go and who they will team up with once they are free agents and get a chance.
