The 29-year-old Fajardo has actually been working on his three-point shots in practice but rarely uses it in games.

“Tumitira din ako sa practice pero siyempre nasa loob pa rin ‘yung laro ko eh. Minsan minsan. Kanina nagkataon lang,” Fajardo said.


The rare three-pointer should come as a welcome sight for national coach Yeng Guiao, who likes his big men to be able to hit the three-point shot. Guiao, incidentally, coached NLEX in the 121-111 loss to SMB.


However, Fajardo said San Miguel coach Leo Austria has told him not to “fall in love” with taking the three-point shot despite his improved proficiency.

Theres a reason why they dont let junmar take the 3, he's not good enough to drive to the lane, for you to be an effective 3 point shooter you also need to be able to fake your man and leave them in the perimeter in case they are too close. Simply hanging around at the perimeter is a huge waste of Junmar's talents

I kinda agree Junemar should be taking 3s but his game should not evolve around that.
He’s never gonna be able to take guya from the perimeter the best case scenario is hes a catch and shoot guy. Which is easy to defend anyway.

That's more effective than camping at the 3pt.lane since he's not a drive type big man like Blatche,who can create enough space for him to shoot 3s comfortably.On the one hand Japeth could since he has this athletic ability for a big man,he just doesn't have the heart to put him himself to a go to guy position.

His 3 pt shot looked good. He had some good lift. He also had a between the legs crossover jumpshot that just went in and out. If June Mar is allowed to play with less weight and not so much minutes, like in this game, he is able to bust out these kind of moves. The guy was 10/13 in this game. He made mince meat of Errams defense and double teams.

For me this is the perfect opportunity to practice high difficulty moves for the World cup.
