  • Euroleague Regular Season: Week 11

    Daçka v Maccabi
    Buducnost v Barcelona
    Zalgiris v Olympiacos
    Bayern Munich v Khimki
    Milano v Gran Canaria
    Efes v Real Madrid
    Baskonia v CSKA
    Panathinaikos v Fener
    FENER
cedi osman is a basketball player who routinely fails to score from the foul line and will make you lose the game while under pressure. he is mentally weak and overrated.
calathes probably has better a 3-point percentage than cedi osman's free throw percentage and honestly, that's hilarious.

I dindt saw question of Murat why Fenerbahce isnt amongst 10 biggest clubs in Europe. Its simply,it is club till 12 or 13 years almost didnt had history .Since last 12,13 years,Fenerbahce make big results ,with which becme biggest Turkish club ,but didnt reached level of clubs which make great results 25 till 40 years.Panathinaikos since 1995 was first club in Greece by national titles ,they won in period when basketball wasnt especially popular in Greece and Europe, but third club in Greece by results in Europe.Fenerbahce have very much many and if conitnue next 15 years, probably win 2 till 3 Euroleague and then he could consider one of 10 biggest clubs in Europe.

I thought that as well, but Zalgris isn't as good as the previous season (lost to Barca and Khimki in Lithuania). They have a serious shooting and PG problem.

Now you're exaggerating a little bit. Yes we were not at the top of the Europe and we were not in the Euroleague since 2007, but we were always in the Turkish league as a playoff level team for at least 30-40 years, we've TBL finals and TBL championship in 1991. The worst year for us was in 1974 and we finished league in 8th place. You can say that Fener wasn't a Euroleague team before 2007 but you can't say Fener ''almost didn't have history.'' we have, it's just not at a top level.

The last chance for Baskonia, the team is 3-7 without confidence, if we lost vs CSKA bye bye euroleague, but if Baskonia win could be the start of the comeback for the top8, the team need a win like this vs a great team.

If your 10 years achievements is already beyond of many others, then there is no need to look at 50-60 years ago. Fener has one euroleague title , 3 finals and 4 F4 and will add the new success to it. Also these success are much more diffucult and important than 40 years ago's time when nobody cares.

that's mostly true, but to stick to facts, Fener was 9th and 10th a few times, most recent in 2004.
before the Fener-Ulker merger in 2007, basketball was secondary for all 3 major Istanbul clubs. They were always in the league, but not really ambitions except one or two years of good runs (eg. early years of Galatasaray, Fener's title in 1991 and their "dream team" in 1999).

17 seasons have gone by since the first jump ball of the EuroLeague in its modern era, and Eurohoops highlights the best teams in the competition based on a special ranking, at the same time presenting their most important achievements in the institution through charts, numbers and stats.

In gearing up to produce another official BallinEurope Euroleague Power Rankings column (it’ll be up here after the draw next week), BiE got to thinking about how unsatisfying the task will be with only 16 teams remaining. After all, BiE regularly has an eye on hundreds of teams and though the Euroleague is clearly cream-of-the-Continental-Crop, […]
