Duncan was David Robinson's PF. Ralph Sampson was Olajuwon's PF. These are seven footers we're talking about yet they slide down to PF.

If our 6'5'' bigs want playing time, they need to show PF skills else they're gonna get buried behind these import centers.

Also, the coaches need to be open minded and try to play his biggest local at a position other than center, especially if his team has import centers.

This is what I'm saying. It's not the imports that is the problem but the 2 import rule before. An import no matter how good needs to rest and there are benefits to playing two bigs. So there is still room for local bigs.

Look at Justine Baltazar. If he were in the NCAA there would have been no need to develop perimeter skills. He would have just bulked up and he would be the most dominant guy in the league. Like a Fajardo. But since he played with and against imports he knows the importance of speed and skill. And he improved a lot since HS when he was just a back to the basket guy.

Carino will never be stretch 4 as the main guy would be then 6'4 mocon.. again there are more quality players in that position than him...so its really in the end survival of fittest..

But statistic wise these are the pba big man who flourished in the league.. junmar, greg, ian Raymond, Beau... As those big players who flourished in the league who played in college with imports.. Rosario, Aldrech ramos.. stretch 4's.. you can include kevin ferrer as he was with karim abdul..

Look at they done to survive..they become stretch 4's on what cost? You be the judge on their careers..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
        1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

The successful bigmen you listed are pure centers and only Belga has a somewhat semi reliable 3. I think this says more about the PBA's lack of decent sized bigmen IMO.

Ferrer went from versatile 3 to a stretch 4 who forgot how to shoot. Troy took a step back after his rookie year. Aldrech only wants to shoot 3. All of them are the lanky thin type who has no business playing under the rim not to mention undersized except for Rosario.

I hope that coaches allowing these bigs to learn multi position skills to be excel even in pros and also in our national team...

Go would never have learned to play the 4 if he was the only legit-sized big in the Ateneo lineup. He wouldn't have the green light to shoot without the presence of Ikeh (2016-17) and Kouame (2018).
              Keep running, big boy.

in the first game there were 9 ateneo players at the start of the game including kouame but without tab. nieto brothers came in the 4h quarter. Ateneo lost that game.

in the game today they started with just 5 players without kouame but this time coach Tab was present. and theyre leading for the whole game. Coach Tabs presence is really big.

Go is still a stretch 5 rather than a 4... ANd his development is not because of the imports, its because of Coaching, Tab Baldwin, remember GO and Ikeh were teammate since 2015 , nowhere was Go allowed by BO Perasol to shoot from 3..

tab and foreign player help Go’s game. everyday practice and at times playing together help Go’s game.

Kind of silly. some people encouraging kai to go to spain to have a better competition without thinking that kai will also be the import in spain.. don’t tell me the difference between the two countries.. they’re reasons why all countries get imports to elevate locals game.. remember aj edu is also an import in US NCAA..

This only reinforces my point. Many college coaches treat foreign players like they would treat imports in the PBA -- give them the ball and get the hell out of the way. Coach Tab thinks differently. He knows that the way to develop his big men's game is to not to make the foreign player the focus of the offense, but to give everyone the green light to shoot, including Go. And it has paid dividends for both Go and Ateneo. If Ateneo didn't have a player of Ikeh or Kouame's size, Go will be focusing more on just post moves instead of taking outside jumpers. That is how you do big man development.

And mind you, with tab's guidance, go becomes a good cutter.

Kai Sotto, even if trained under Tab, won't reach NBA levels if he trains locally. However, he will probably still be a huge upgrade over Slaughter/Fajardo by the time he's done with college.
