Well the really good bigmen usually goes to the UAAP. Expect a lot of teams to play smaller and faster. Also expect the quality of the games to go down.

the upside tho is that small ball makes the pace of the game faster. makes it more exciting. plus the drive of these schools to develop big men from the provinces will be more active.

Yeah but exciting doesn't always mean good basketball. I hope your right though. I predict a lot of incoming bigmen transferees from the other leagues in the first few seasons of this stupid rule

Especially some bigs from UAAP schools that demoted to team B!!! they rather go to the NCAA schools, so that they can get a lot of playing time and honed their skills rather than sitting on the bench!!!! It will benefit the PBA and National team also because in PBA draft last couple of years only consist of guards.. only little to none existed big man now produced by our college schools due to imports... Expecting 2024 PBA draft and beyond, PBA draft always have a legit prospects of bigs, many of them coming from NCAA schools because of confidence that they have.. and will benefit National team because more big man prospects, more chances of bigger pool in our Nat'l team...

What kind of bigs? A 6'5 undersized 80's-90's slow, post up big that is already obsolete even in asian standards. If that's the case, retain the imports. Your jurassic ncaa coaches failed to develop mobile bigs ala korea because they lack imagination to do so. What they should have done is to train their 6'5-6'8 locals to play side by side with their imports like what nu did to troy and mbe and what ateneo did to ikeh and go and kouame and go.

Maybe you not understand my point here.. yes maybe they will train ala old school basics.. but confidence and prospect that they will get is a huge boost.. its better to have like this rather than most of the bigs were benched because imports eating the playing minutes of our locals.. and also theres the pba who can trained them into multiple positions as you mentioned especially if they land to the pba teams that needed bigs.. my point is we need these local big men to honed their skills rather to be bench by most of uaap schools and some ncaa schools prior to the banning of imports..

The later you train the player, the harder it becomes for him to transition to another position. If a 6'4"-6'6" player cannot play multiple positions by the time he reaches the PBA, then maybe he has no business playing basketball in the first place. Stop blaming imports for stunted player development!

NCAA should have tried the 1 import first. The 2 import is bad because the 2nd import takes away the backup minutes. And it increases the dependence on the imports rather than distribute some of the load to the local bigs. If the way they call NCAA is to favor the physical and hefty local bigs over the taller and more athletic import then they are regessing. Those bigs will not be ready for international competition.

although finishing around the rim isnt a big import thing its a skill thing.. they should have real game experience i see big man do mikan drills but unable to make layups in real game situation because of pressure..thats what you get if you dont have pt.. minute restriction is key so that teams will rely to their carinos in some stretch of games and again constant nt/gilas exposure wala din yan kung di siya lalaban internationally
