  • Dalph Panopio Thread

looking forward to see this kid develop into a better point guard in the future. This guy has a decent showing in the Fiba-Asia U-18 Championship.I think him and Matt Nieto have a very good chance into cracking the Senior team lineup in the future. This thread is for Panopio's developments and updates.

I think it's important to take note of his year-on-year improvement. Looks like his development has been steadily increasing, from being on nobody's radar a few years ago to his current abilities. He does not have elite athleticism and playing in Europe, he will be forced to develop the skills and mental aspects of the game.

Dalph I think is the perfect specimen of a pure Filipino trained in Europe. We have seen Filipinos born, raised and trained in the US like Alapag,Helterbrand etc. but not in Europe.I hope Dalph would continue to develop his game and make it to the div.1 of the Euro league,Liga Endesa or LBA Serie A.

Surely he will be in the u19 next year , if yes then Kai can follow the same route.

That's a tough league to play in. Structured systems, fundamentally sound players, not to mention they are also long and athletic. I am certain this would solidify Dalph's status as a contender for a Gilas guard slot, this despite the usual, continuous emergence of very good guards in the Philippines. The more, the merrier.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Did his team elevate him to the Senior team ( together with 5 more teen-agers ,the youngest of which is just 16 y.o)?

Imagine Kai competing with the same type of competition.
