    Default 2018 Philippines U18 National Team

    Hi all the basketball fans of the Philippine (and you are really so many, congratulations !!!) !!!

    I would have two questions for you:

    1) if a young basketball player plays for one of the Philippine youth team, he will definitely play for the senior national team, or is not sure?

    2) in the U-18 Asian Championships on 2018, then it would be possible to see this STARTING FIVE?
    Jeron Artest (2001; his mother says he will ask the Philippine passport);
    Ron Harper JR (2000; sixteen years this year ... do you know if he has the Philippine Passport?);
    Ariel John Edu (2000; he has already the Philippine Passport since he was two years old !!!!);
    Tai Sotto (2002 o 2003 ??? Being the son of Ervin Sotto, I imagine has already requested the Passport);
    Ethan Kirkness (2002; he took the Philippine Passport this year !!!)

    FROM THE BENCH:
    Eli Ramos (2000???; I think he has just the Philippine Passport)
    Kamaka Hepa (2000; I don't know if he has Passport)

    Do you can think of other interesting names?

    Thanks for your answers!!!
    An Italian "jealous" of the passion and organization of the Philippine Basketball Federation!!!

    Hey, Mamuyac did block Curry fair and square. He is a pretty good defensive player. Remember he was the best player the last time we defeated China (U-17). If Mamuyac transitions to a guard he'll have a bright future. Long wingspan, decent athleticism.

    1.4 steals and 0.8 blocks per game in the recent U-18 tournament. Had one block each against China and Korea, and two against India.
    Keep running, big boy.

    Oh, I never intended to downplay Gian's skills or athleticism. Just thinking that he might be the next Pinoy basketball internet meme.

    Pretty good handles and mobility. Whats his height? Might need some more strength.

    I think Amsali can be an SF. His good handles, for his size, has been his remarkable skill since he was in elementary. His mobility will come back if he loses weight. But he really needs to work on his outside shooting. Maybe NU really needs a rebounder but Amsali will really open up his game if he works on his outside shooting.

    I hope he would have a growth spurt of about 3'4 inches and maintain the mass to bang inside for the future of gilas...

    he will be the perfect fit next to Kai, AJ is more of a sf anyway

    Will be interesting to see an older Phillipines team.
    I think atm they are better in the u16/u17 tournaments. Great achievement making this years WC.

    U18/u19 team, I don't see having the same success.
    Big step up. China will be up there, Korea and Japan will be much better at this level along with Iran, NZ and Australia.
    Would be a mighty effort to make Top 4.

    Might help with comparison...
    Aussies in camps so far/future

    6'2 W.Cranston-Lown 00
    6'2 S.Macdonald 00

    6'9 C.Dalton 00
    6'9 O.Hayes-Brown 00

    Possible could come in...

    Hey mate, good to see you back. Basically this team will have 5 to 7 holdovers from the U16 squad. New additions include a guard who played some pro ball in Italy (Dalph Panopio) and Toledo's new recruit (AJ Edu.) Not very lofty expectations, but the aim is to at least qualify for the World Cup.

    I'm hoping FIBA makes their decision within this week on suspensions of the coaches and I hope it goes down to this level and hopefully kids will be ready in a month.

    Josh Green will not represent Australia since he will be too busy with college visits. You will probably see him in Olympics in the future.

    It's hard to argue with the success of the coaches in the U17 world cup, when you make hisory as highest placed real Asian team and 2 wins (that s thr the best finish in a world cup i think in the last 40 years?

    Even if that's all due to Kai

    I like you. You are still in your used-car salesman mode. Evidence says it was some quite good pinoy players who worked for the higher result, and some truly awful players who raced to get the team to the bottom. It was just very fortunate that there were good enough players to pull the team up.

    As for the quality of their "coaches", i feel most ibners will just politely do an after-action report with smiles and wish you a happy day. Do you have a good pre-loved 2.4 manual hilux g by the way?
