you mean this kid? Taine Murray,6'4, G

    he's easily 6' 5 now..

Interesting, Murray plays for Rosmini same team as TJ (Camp David), Rosmini played in the National finals vs St Patrick's (my son's team)

Murray (17 yrs old) has also made Tall Black pool with Adams

    • The idiot is a baller camp 'ho and knows how to use attention-grabbing moves. The winning chances of nts and atteneo turn negative when he plays. His attention-grabbing moves dont work against experienced guards.

      • Some articles and videos I would reccomend people to read.
Scroll down to gilas pilipinas youth: https://tv5.espn.com/

Aj edu telling people to watch not just his defense but offense too : https://www.spin.ph/basketball/fiba/...=home_hybrid_1

Looks like Aj has bulked up in this picture : https://www.foxsports.ph/basketball/...o-gilas-youth/

        • If they ever need to use big lineup.
          Kai
          Aj
          Tamayo
          ildefonso
          panopio

Tamayo can be a 3 on offense and a 4 on defence and Edu a 4 on offense and a 3 on defence.

For me a bigger line-up that has a bigger defensive impact on other big guards is Spencer instad of Tamayo. Keep the 4 other starters.

that provides better defensive presure , ball movement and speed

            • Another article by fox sports ph. They have some mistakes about positions and height but still a worthy read.

              • Great for our long term future, we do need to start a team that can legitimately envisioned to compete in terms of length for future senior international games.

Hopefully we use this team as starting point for 2023 team. Just add Reinforcments (JC as NP) Ravena bros.

                • ^I love that in the article he talked about the evolution of his game to play different positions. This reminded me of a documentary by Vice Sports about the Croatian basketball system. They may not have the best training facilities but they do have excellent coaches. They teach kids from a very young age to play positions 1-5 so that by the time they reach their teens it just ends up being a natural thing to do. The SBP thankfully have been making strides in raising the standard of coaching in the grassroots level and hopefully we see the effect of this in all future Gilas youth teams.

                  • In case some of you don’t know, we have a new BCAP President and he’s into raising the standard of coaching in the grassroots, conducting clinics/seminars and accreditation events. This seems to be a thing lately, and I hope more people become interested into the coaching and officiating aspect of the game. It could only mean we’d produce more fundamentally sound players right off the bat—a solid foundation we could build on in our quest to producing more world class cagers.

The thing is, what is happening to our "23 for 2023" cadet pool? After its stint in last year's Fil-oil Flying V Preseason Cup, the team/pool hasn't played in any tournament, may it be local or international. The pool hasn't even practice since then. Naka ilang international tournaments na ang nangyari in which the cadet pool could have participated but SBP sent a different team in those tournaments. In last year's Jones Cup, SBP should have sent the cadet pool reinforced by one or two American import/s. Never mind if NCAA members of the pool weren't available at that time. UAAP members of the pool like Thirdy, Matt Nieto, Isaac Go, Arvin Tolentino, Ken Tuffin, 1GDL, Ricci Rivero, Kobe Paras were available at that time. In this upcoming edition of Jones Cup, SBP is sending the Mighty Sports team with perhaps no more than 2 or 3 members of the cadet pool.

So what do SBP people have in mind about the "23 for 2023" cadet pool? Maybe they're thinking malayo pa naman yung 2023 FIBA World Cup eh, and besides, automatic qualified na naman tayo being one of the hosts.

Since the Gilas/Aus incident, it doesn't seem like the SBP has had any proper plans for both the seniors & cadets. Everything since the brawl have all been band-aid solutions for the short term problems they had.

Band-aid for a very deep cut won't work.

BTW, speaking of cadets, Remy Martin, a member of the cadets just received a call from the SBP, apparently just to be told he's not going to be playing in the NT. Perhaps he was also told his time will come in 2023. So, most probably, we will, again have mostly world cup rookies in 2023.
You know your leadership is shit when they couldn’t even send a 3x3 team in the Asian Games.

That’s just how bad things have gotten since MVP stepped down.
