  • Canada seems to be doing just all right despite all of those absences from their roster - a team is loaded with sharpshooters and guards with a very quick hands defensively. Now New Zealand are pretty pedestrian squad it has to be said, but you still have to be doing something right to blow them away like that...

          • there have been some questions about Milutinov appearances to Akropolis tournament, and not given the minutes he deserved compared to some of his teammates. As a result we made speculations here about that.

Well here is an explanation according to reporter Kalkavouras: In the second half of the game Serbia-Turkey, Miloutinov took a taxi and went with injured Milosavljevic to take exams on Metropolitan hospital. And that's because the organizer of the tournament, greek federation, wasn't prepared to have a vehicle to transport an injured athlete from a foreign team.

Milutinov had to pay for the exams and later the cost went to Olympiakos B.C.

i wonder why we do this "parade". The federation wasn't unprepared at all though, Refs knew what they had to do.

            • Has anybody seen ,more disgusting conduct than Jokic on this preparation for World Cup? Before announcement of the sqad, there was reality show about their playing or absence on the tournament.Against Lithuania in Belgrade,he had 5 or 6 turnovers,in Lithuana ,he made 3 or 4 such stupid mistakes .Against Italy he made foul on some Italian player and this player in same offense made foul on them ,reffree didnt stop play ,after that Jokic catch other Italian player and hold them for body 5 seconds and gesticulate to reffree ,on 15 points advantage for Serbia .Final of Acropolis Cup,he `s gone because some private reasons.

Such person should be a leader of national team which pretend on medal or gold ? What he did for national team, silver on Olympics, where he had secondary role .Tolerance of such rudness of any player is way to failure .And that is one of most stupid reason for failure .On the end, leastwise Jokic will get deserved despise of people Serbia ,I will be glad because that .

              • Australia still has it. Tough, smart, disciplined team. It will be a heck of a game between Aussies and Liths in the group stage. USA a bit of chucking mode tonight. Shots not falling. This USA is much more vulnerable, but still can make quick runs if you don't handle them with as much toughness and a little bit extra as legal. In cold shooting night this USA might be in trouble, no elite post players in this roster basically.

He did, sounded retarded. But that's his father's brainwash all the way.

                      • Some of aussie bench players look like they don't belong to compete on this level unfortunately. The main guys are also getting up there in age and it's showing on the court. US are playing their usual perimeter based jumpshooting game, trying to overwhelm opponents with their superior backcourt talent alone... In other words, nothing new under the FIBA sun it seems

                        • Goulding can shoot. To me, he and Jocke is that fresh power fire for Aussies. Bogut still has great passing, playing much like Jokic, except that he won't score much himself. Baynes can nail a three, so that complicates D for such player like JV for example who can't really step out, but Baynes is not a good passer. Mills just an inch less explosive, but still great. Delly still tough, Ingles is Ingles. To me, this team is a bit worse (not so deep and Bogut declined) than 2016, but not much.

                          • 51,218 people attending a game in which they knew they would have a terrible view. Refunds were even offered after the US pullouts. That's just an amazing attendance.

Is this some sort of a record for a basketball game? It must be in Top 5 most attended games for sure

                              • Good game. USA is a good team. The try to control the glass, in order to put pressure to the opponents. They play good defence, too. To my eyes they remain the favourite.

The Aussies lack depth in their roster. Six players plus a decent Goulding. The others can't help, they might won't do in the tournament. Coach Lemanis should realise sooner than later the mistake he made with Motum/Kay case. As i mentioned before the biggest lose for Australia is not Simmons nor Bolden. It's the absence of Broekhoff (3 and D) and the retirement of Andersen. Especially Andersen lose hurts a bit.
