main reason from them was he is with their high school team thus they award him a spot as a loyalty gift , but it most likely the higher price on jamie services.

Still, he must be really good for them to pick him #1. He could've been easily still available in the second round if they picked Orme. He's just 17 and there were only 4 teams picking. Loyalty was a given but it couldn't be the lone reason

IIRC school-based teams must draft their students first before tapping non-students and Baclig is an AMA student

Does not seem to be like that. In fact, baclig was the result of an unexpected change of plans. Everybody was expecting them to draft Orme. If that was required, why were people expecting it to be Orme

It was a Manny Pacquiao draft.

Have a source. It tells that Malonzo is asking for a higher salary. That's why they shelf the earlier plan and went with that route. If anything Reed Baclig is a project, AMA went on him because of his ties and they want to make a history of selecting the youngest no 1 pba d league pick.

AMA might still be conjuring the scenario that happened years ago when Newsome was drafted 1st but refused to sign with the team that drafted him. And with Orme a blue chip recruit, AMA might not be able to afford his price tag..

Looks like sage will be another qmb, jalen, ballungay situations.

As I said, looks like Sage and his family is not interested. His answer "I could" means "Maari" or "Pwede". But he clearly stated that he will go to college before thinking anout gilas offers. That will make him ineligible
