In first prep Croatia beat Montenegro 86-63.

Perasović scored 20, Šarić 18, Bošnjak 12+5, Prkačin 10+9+6. Tomašević 20 for Montenegro.

Despite last year embarrassing U-16 it's very talented team which missed some key players and has some key players 2002 born. They are now less inferior to older boys than last year. If no injuries we should play for medal

Canada's 17 man training camp roster announced.

This is an improvement on the u16 FIBA Americas team that took silver. Our leading scorers at last summer's U16s were McNeilly, SRM, and Sakota, with Ndur getting a lot of boards. They are all on the list, along with other rotation players from last summer Todd, Krikke, and Bediako. Notable 2001 born additions to the u16 team who did not play last summer include include Patterson, Hemmings, and Moncrieffe. Unlike last year, it's really the best roster we can put out. A couple are also on the u18 FIBA Americas team but should be available to this team as well. (Patterson and Bediako). An eye opening add is Edey - a newcomer and actually quite an impressive prospect for his size (perhaps even a 7'3). As expected, he's not very quick or agile and his offense is quite rudimentary. But he has a solid physique, not awkward, moves decently well, and can really protect the basket. He along with Bediako and Minott (or at least two of the three) would be a great improvement to the center position from u16s last year, when we were beaten up inside by the Americans.

Gives me hope we can live up to Canada's current #2 ranking in the FIBA Youth Men Rankings

        (Thanks Hair!)

What happened that was embarrassing if they ending up qualifying for this?

USA Basketball confirmed a training camp roster of 30 players with some changes:

Missing from the previously announced list are big Isaiah Todd (ESPN 2020 #3), Anthony Edwards and Nico Mannion (who is in the sights of Italian Sr NT recruiters and actually top scored U16 Italy at the 2017 Fiba Euro). No big names among the added players.

Wiseman is apparently injured. I guess that moves Mobley up the list.
