Canada has that game stolen from them.

That last second three was good yet it was called a 2 pointer to send the game into overtime - when 4 of 5 Canadian bigs were already fouled out.

        Here is the video.

Game winning 3 ruled good by ref two feet away staring at Conor Morgan's feet. Head ref overturns call without video proof. The angles we saw on TV were bad angles and inconclusive. Certainly nothing to overturn a call on the floor. And video proof surfaces after the game clearly showing it is good. Canada files formal protest - FIBA denies - with wording making it sound it is not a protestable event (which seems insane). Not a good look for FIBA.

          Here is Canada Basketball's presser:

I sure hope that ref is demoted and never works at this level again. That is the definition of a "stolen game".

            We are back!

Returning former NBA head coach Mike Fratello and featuring 11 players who were active in the NBA G League in 2019-20 and six players with USA Basketball experience, USA Basketball today announced the coaching staff and the 13 players who will participate in the USA’s Nov. 23-28 training camp to determine the 12-man roster for the November 2020 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying games.

Fratello, who served as head coach of the USA Basketball November 2020 AmeriCup Qualifying Team and led the U.S. to a 2-0 record, returns to lead the USA in the November AmeriCup Qualifying window. Also returning to the coaching staff as assistant coaches are November 2020 USA AmeriCup Qualifying assistant Othella Harrington and long-time NBA coach Joe Prunty.

Selected for the training camp were: Kaiser Gates (Maine Red Claws/Xavier); Tyler Hall (Westchester Knicks/Montana State); Jalen Hudson (Capital City Go-Go/Florida); Amile Jefferson (Lakeland Magic/Duke); John Jenkins (Hapoel Eilat, Israel/Vanderbilt); Jemerrio Jones (Wisconsin Herd/New Mexico State); Josh Magette (Lakeland Magic/Alabama-Huntsville); Yante Maten (Maine Red Claws/Georgia); Sir’Dominic Pointer (Canton Charge/St. John’s); Levi Randolph (Canton Charge/Alabama); Tyler Roberson (South Bay Lakers/Syracuse); Travis Trice (Gemani Basket Brescia, Italy/Michigan State); and Paul White (Salt Lake City Stars/Oregon).

The USA team will train daily Nov. 23-28 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and will play Bahamas on Nov. 29 (4 p.m. EST) and Mexico (7:30 p.m. EST) on Nov. 30. The full 2019-20 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying schedule is available at https://www.usab.com/mens/americup/game-schedule.aspx.
Puerto Rico will also be playing Mexico and the Bahamas in Indianapolis.

US beats Mexico for a drama free qualification.

Though not a whole lot of drama overall in this competition, only big name in any danger is Puerto Rico who only just beat the Bahamas today and it will likely come down to the final game between the two.

I see that Canada has games February 19th against Cuba and February 22nd against the Virgin Islands which Canada now needs to win to be assured of qualifying for AmeriCup 2022.

Is their anyone who raises their game in national team play more than Walter Hodge?

Yeah, Hodge at 34yo still balling. 44pts and 44 eff and that's without drawn fouls... Amazing, but still wasn't enough to beat Canada. 3 close losses in 4 days. It must be heartbreaking for US Virgin Islands, they needed at least one to keep qualifying hopes alive. Wondering what will happen with 3 remaining Cuba's games in this group, I guess this might be the last chance for Hodge and co, if Cuba will withdraw.

Also Bahamas failed short vs Puerto Rico, they had 9pts lead coming into 4qtr, but weren't able to keep it. That would have kicked Puerto-Rico out if I'm not wrong, huge sensation

Bahamas definitely came the closest to making this qualifier interesting, but Puerto Rico outlasted them.

Edit: Actually I take that back, if they ever manage to play a game it looks like Cuba will get in over the Virgin Islands. That's somewhat of a mini shock.

USVI giving Canada and DR all they can handle but losing to Cuba by 27 points in their only home game of the competition is a tough way to go out.

Bahamas nearly beat PR in November as well...would love to see them break through at some point.

                        Walter Hodge though
