Yeah, the veterans willing to share experience is crucial for our boys to prepare them for 2023. And a lot of these kids are teachable, and that's gonna help greatly.

These guys can teach a few skills, actually. Ping can teach the younger bigs how to stay in front when switched on a perimeter player, and how to position on defense. RDO, shooting, post skills, and penetration, combo forward skills. Japeth, rim protection.

For Chot, i think they already finished their issues back then, And Chot always pick him.. While Toroman only issue at Japeth is the "Chris Tiu's IQ" comment.. But other than that eh no issues, Japeth is still young on Toroman's time, He's not yet ripe at that time.. Baldwin meanwhile, He was axed to be Gilas coach due to benching of Japeth and Abueva's non inclusion on the final roster.. Even Japeth's father is frustrated on Baldwin's decision.. Even media also questioned Baldwin's decision at that time..

To be honest, we still veterans. Developing and letting players within same age bracket will cause us problems 6-8 years from now. Just look at Iran, Argentina, Spain and Chinese-Taipei. Their teams started in the youth level then went to be their senior's teams. Then they started to grow old and worse, sabay-sabay silanh tatandaan.

I prefer on putting atleast 3-4 for proper and smooth transition.

I still prefer classic of transition between our players in Gilas.

Classic examples are:

Alapag > Castro > Kiefer > 1GDL/Matt Nieto
Meneses > Cariaso > Hontiveros
Lassiter > Wright > Dwight

Agreed. For the cadets, we will need different age brackets for different tournaments. For example, the WC qualifier windows. We primarily use the kids born 1996-2002 in the November 2021 WC window. The rest of the windows, we use 2001-2004 kids, then we can add 2005 kids in the February 2023 window. However, we can players younger than 18 if they show enough promise to play for the senior team.

More likely the barometer of what kind of pg CTab would look into for wc23 since the bigs like kai,aj, and kouame would surely be shooins already.

Hopefully Edu will be serviceable for Gilas. By then, hopefully we'll also have developed good enough forwards (in terms of size and skill) for 2023 and beyond.

There's no Summer Olympics in 2022. It's 2020, then 2024.

By the way guys, in case we eventually lose CJ to the arms of SMC, don't forget that we still have a Thirdy Ravena. The 2023 team still has JC, Parks Jr., Dwight, AJ and Kai. Then from the bench are Juan GDL, Thirdy, Oftana, Baltazar, Kouame. That's a solid 10-man rotation.

Agreed on this point. Most of the talents hoarded (and not lent) by SMC are relatively easily replaceable, such as Terrence and Perez. We have Thirdy and Juan for that, and hopefully more. What are harder to replace are the centers, especially during the windows, and especially considering that we're lacking in size. We'll need more, considering that there will be times that Kai and Edu might have other commitments that might conflict with the Gilas schedule.

Why can't Japan can do a bubble Olympics? This is the only way for now!!

1st probably logistics as you have thousands of athletes convening in the copuntry for the olympics, second and the most important would be the return of investments, tourism and tourism related expenses would be the biggest chunk of the income for the olympic games aside from TV coverage. Japan will be losing money if the games pushes through without an audience, they spent too much on infra and might not be able to recoup their expenses if the games pushes through in a bubble setup.

SF - Kobe Paras (I still believe in this guy, and Dwight at this position will be a walking mismatch on size alone)
SG - Clarkson (if the basketball Gods favor us)
PG - Robert Bolick (his "World Cup" experience and size will be key)

6th man - Kai Sotto at center
7th man - Dwight Ramos as a swingman for SG and SF positions
