Michael Phillips is listed as 6'8 by both verbal commits and max preps. Some are saying he had another growth spurt. You can check photos of him and 6'6 older bro (Benjamin) and he's towering over him. Already 17 but has been with la salle since last year. Maybe, he can take the same route as James Spencer

It's time to revisit this page. A member posted a group picture of Philipps brothers and Jason Perkins. For better reference

I have feeling that Edu will be at the NBA at that time.. but still no problem because he already know the system of Gilas..

He is not 6’8 if youre going based of listed heights by these websites theres a long list of wrong measurements

Reminds me of the University of Houston story of recruiting Hakeem, who just showed up in the airport with the coaches expecting a 6' 8 guy, the assistant coach who picked him up in the airport called the head coach , coach this guy looks like 7 feet , lol

Tuck, you've seen him live, and played with him? if so i believe you .. no one who sees a person live will mistake a 6' 9 guy for 6' 5 lol

Reminds me of this story of a Ginebra import ( i think Pope is his name) who passed for the under 6' 5 height restrictions, but was listed in the NBA as 6'8 or something, then Norman Black who's around 6' 5 stood beside him and looked like 4 inches shorter, so Norman said if he's 6' 5 then i'm 6'1 lol

Not unless La Salle's team physician could disclose the precise height of Phillips lol

If perk is around 6'1-6'3, ben must have been 6'4-6'6 while michael is around 6'7-6'9. Just look at the shoulders.

6'5 is an underestimation for a player's frame like michael philipps.

If michael is indeed 6'5-6'6, ben is only around 6'2-6'3 while perk is only around 5'11-6'1 which is quite ridiculous.

So, the conclusion should be, if these "websites" says this, it's wrong? I think it's more like some of the profiles don't get updated. Hence actual/current height, if inaccurate, should be taller than the listed. Anyway, spinmove just did you guys a favor since you all seem to not bother to back read, he posted a couple of links to the Phillips brothers photo with Jason perkins. And if you're looking for a6'5 6'6sh guy, that's Benjamin, not Michael.

I maybe a little sound silly or ridiculous but have anyone ever thought of asking for Eric Spoelstra's services for Gilas? I mean not the head coach but in some other capacity.

Nick Nurse did it for Canada, I think Coach Spo can.

His defensive schemes are really good. Tab + Spo + Alex + Dickel would be a dope coaching line up for Gilas.

Kahit sa big tournaments lang like FIBA-Asia Cup at FIBA World Cup.

Yeah, Spoelstra can serve as a consultant, especially for player development and defensive schemes, both areas which really need improvement. Somebody has to contact him for that. The only guy I know that's kinda close to him is Tim Cone.

Great Idea. If Spo wants and SBP is willing.

if the guy beside him is 7", then maybe he is around 6'6 or a bit taller, definitely not 6'8, not unless he gained some height after the video.

I think this will work, maybe we could also hire Chip Enggeland as our shooting coach.

Maybe you're referring to former Ginebra import Sylvester Gray bro? I remember coach Norman Black making such comment questioning the PBA's height measurement on Gray.

    I could be wrong though

Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

I think Sylvester gray played short stint with the alaska milkmen but not with ginebra.
