  • InterBasket Player Profile Thread

After getting the forum in order after our blackout, the next step for me was working on the interbasket player profiles. To my surprise, there were quite a few profiles lost/corrupted. I've been working this last week non-stop trying to get them back up and up-to-date. So we're up to over 150 player profiles in our profile list... it's never complete and I am sure I am missing some great international players and legends, this is why I am starting this thread up again... for suggestions of missing profiles.

I've got the following profiles on my short list for creation--

Teo Cruz, Vladmir Tchenko (sp), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dr. J, Pero Cameron, and Kirk Penney.

Anyone with any information about any of these players (particularly great 300x300 photos) would be extremely helpful.... articles, bio, news, images... anything.

Also looking for some large images of the following players; Drazen Petrovic, Oscar Schmidt, Kresimir Cosic, Sergei Belov, Andrew Gaze, Nikos Galis, Dino Radja, and Dino Meneghin.

On top of that, this thread is for suggestions and posting information and pictures of players you would like to see.

The last 5-6 days I have created profiles for 15-year-old Spanish prodigy Ricky Rubio, French prospect Mickael Gelabale, Kill Bill Vassilis Spanoulis, left-handed, 6-9 point guard Sun Yue, super-quick Lebanese point guard Rony Fahed and Serbian scorer Igor Rakocevic. Check them out and let me know if I have made a mistake, any suggestions are welcome here.

I don't know if you saw this but after the blackout... I got into a profile-creating frenzy for about 2 straight months and in that time, I added about 30-40+ profiles but didn't mention it.... the profiles created included the Teo Cruz profile (as well as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Sofoklis Schortsianitis, Zan Tabak, Drazen Dalipagic, Uljana Semjonova, Dr. J, Martin Muursepp, Haixia Zheng, Jorge Garbajosa, Modestas Paulauskas, Yinka Dare, Sergio Rodriguez, Pero Cameron, Walter Herrmann, David Andersen, Marco Belinelli, Vladmir Tkachenko and others).

Again this was about 3 months ago and I have to say, finding information about Teo Cruz was really difficult (maybe the most difficult player -- he, Tkachenko, Dalipagic, Haixia, and Paulauskas were very hard to obtain information).... even normally easy data like Teo's height, weight, date of birth were really difficult to research and find ... not to mention trying to find some articles and summaries of his playing days. Please do send some more info about Teofilo (and if you guys have any more information about any other players, I would love to have it), and if you have a picture of him; that would be fantastic!

              Some minor corrections:

              Sun Yue
The team Sun Yue was playing on, the Beijing Aoshen Olympians team were suspended from the Chinese Basketball Association for the 2004・005 season because of their refusal to release Sun Yue to the Chinese National team.
In 2004, his team refused to let him join the Under-21 Chinese National Team and was expelled from the CBA.
Actually it was the Chinese U-20 team. Aoshen was actually eligible to play in 2005-06 CBA season but decided to go abroad instead.

Zheng Haixia: First of all Zheng is her surname
Teams (jersey): Wuhan Army, Chinese National Team (11), Los Angeles Sparks (28)
You can add PLA Army (Bayi). The Wuhan Army team disintegrated in the 80s!

Otherwise great job, PS I've never seen the big picture of Zheng Haixia...

Fixed. Thanks for pointing those out Sino. As far as the surname thing goes, in a lot of the profiles, I purposely misspell some of the names/use common mistakes so they're found on seacrh engines. It's true. You'll see that in Haixia's profile -- it's both Haixia Zheng and Zheng Haixia.

Thanks for that information Tievon. As soon as I get home today, I will update his profile with his height and weight. That way, anyone looking for his information in the future can find it. If you have any great basketball stories about your grandfather, Interbasket would love to hear them.

Hey elaj, which one of these Slovenians played the largest part for SLO basketball history? Can you get me some pictures, some other information?

Consider it done. Do you have any pictures of his playing days? You or PRSURF care to write up a summary?
