Question FIBA Asia U16 2017 updates

What happened to the FIBA Asia U16 championship this year? It was supposed to be held in Malaysia starting October 5 but nothing came about? Any update please?

At last we now have a new schedule for the 2017 FIBA Asia u16 championship! It will be held Feb 12 - 20, 2018 at Nanjing, China. Since it will be held 2018 already so it will now be called 2018 FIBA Asia u16 championship? LOL. Anyway, my concern now is the age eligibility of players. If one is more than 16 yo already by Feb 2018 will he get disqualified, when in fact he could be under 16 if the tournament was held on its original schedule last October, 2017?

I am sure the age will remain the same for whatever the eligibility was for the rest of the world, since the same kids will be playing in the U17 World Cup next summer.

Always China, they always get these tournaments. Be cool for Taiwan to get a shot, this would actually draw a good crowd in Taipei!
