What do you guys think about Dzikic? He is going to be announced as a new Rytas' head coach this Monday. What are his strengths, weaknesses? He seems to have an incredible potential, he had an amazing season with Krka.

Krka on bright moments played one of the better basketballs in europe, while some of Olimpija players are obviously devastated and can't create anything at all on court. If Krka would be consistant in their game, it wouldn't even be fair anymore.

Djordjević, Booker and Ikonić are definately leaving, but they seem replacable to me with the exception of Djordjević that really excelled from time to time. I expect Murič and Dragič noticably progressing and carrying their team along.
He already left. Some days ago it was reported that he will play in Pinar Karsiyaka (Turkey) next season.

EDIT: Djordjevič was signed by Okapi Aaalstar

his team always good defens.. he i think that your team wount have any "star" player, but a lot of workers.. he was under vujosevic school, so it will be quite similar game type.. any team, which he trained played nice basketball, but with olimpija he doesnt have results.. just nice game

our manager said that 100% go away are dzile, djordevic and ikonic.. for other said that moslty all will stay.. they are still in talking with players.. i hope for good coach.. if we get good coach, i belive that next season wll be the same with biger impact of Rojc, Murič, Dragič and hope fope for new young guys

Smodiš retired yesterday, after dropping 21 in 16 minutes on his "favourite rival" winning another Slovenian title after leaving Krka in 2000.

Reportedly he'll continue as Krka's sport director.

Yup, quite a sensation. Helios was at lower level this season than the last decade as the previous management screwed up financialy a bit, their no.1 player 95' Matic Rebec got injured and it all fall apart at that point. With their new coach, Okorn (ex Olimpija's head coach and Lietuvos Rytas assistant) they've build a new system that applied well to the strenghts of their team, added 2 decent Slo league players (Morina, Pelko) and Marko Ščekić that in his younger days played for Budućnost, Cantu, Varese and some other decent clubs and he schooled Omić in the most inapropriate times, preferably in 4th quarters. Helios draw in, defended the penetrations and stacked in the middle, prefering to leave Olimpija open for 3, which resultet in more 3 pointer attempts than it would be healthy, good job by Okorn. They kept close last minute and anything can happen there.
Marinović commited a foul half a second before the end, got a nervous breakdown when whistled and the rest is history. Noone is willing to give Olimpija the credit of a game in our national championship being lost in the last second, they lost the game prior to that in other 39 minutes 59 seconds.

Olimpija had some unhealthy mix of ego's, immature kids and low IQ players, with Salin and Begić departure in the middle of the season and by Pipan, which is kind of a strict coach, being replaced by Memi Bečirovič that tries things nice way, those pricks kind of prevailed.
From battleing with some really good clubs 3-4 months ago, ending up 5th in ABA and than later getting beat up by Helios, which is a club barely managing to keeping it all at not droping to semi-amateur level, well, that's an achievement on it's own
that just shows the incredible strenght of our domestic league, so we'll demand at least 8 places in ABA for Slovenia next time

Well, he lost it after the foul, I'd probably go nuts as well. And as far as I can tell from various pictures from different angles Pukl was right whistleing it. Got a whole shitload of primitivism due to it, but Olimpija's players should aknowledge they screwed up themselves, they've let two games to go down with the last shot and accusing referees is childlish in this case.

...and Krka got eliminated by Tajfun in the semi-finals, 2-0 without a doubt which team was playing better.
First time after 2007 Olimpija or Krka won't be the champions and unless Helios is the one that wins it all (they got title from 2007), a 4th different champion since independence (91').
As Krka failed to win Slo championship, Olimpija will need a wild card for adriatic league to play there.
