Default [Bronze Medal Game] Spain - Russia

Time to know who will get the last place in the podium. Will we see Alexey Shved with a medal or will be Navarro and Pau's last chance?

If this really is the end of this Spain team I imagine they'll come out tough. Last time they didn't medal was 2005, and before that 1997.

3 golds, 3 silvers and if we win, 3 bronzes plus that 4th position. Since 1999, impressive results, really proud.

Spain should win this game , they are much better team, Russia have no answer for Gasol brothers.

No, they were just unfortunate Marc Gasol/Pau Gasol didn't got injured against Slovenia.
apparently, only injured Gasol is a way for Scariolo to not use them together.
Can't believe the idiot started them together again.

I wonder if it's possible he's pressured to put them both in by the Gasols themselves or someone else? I just figure since this is likely Pau's last tournament they feel he MUST start, as a proper farewell or something. I dunno, but it makes no sense and doubtless a highly respected coach would see that, too.

maybe we're a bit too critical, Spain has lost only 1 game in the eurobasket.

he could have just rotate them at 5, give 20 minutes to each of them and potentially use them together here and there but not continously.

Not a bad way to go out if this is the end.

Last 10 tournaments. 3 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze, 1 4th place finish. Quite the era.

    Nice numbers! A legendary team.

A legend said goodbye today to our NT, too.

Gracias Juan Carlos! Thank you for all Navarro!

It is an end of an era... not of Spain though but the era of Pau and Navaro. Even without them Spain will still have a team that can compete be sure about that.

Yes, how you said, our goal must be to be competitive team. In 2019 WC we could go with somwthing like:

    Rubio-Llull-Vives or Díaz
    Abrines-Sastre
    Juancho-Claver
    Mirotic-Oriola-Sáiz
    Willy-Diop

And I not counting players with 34 y old such as Rudy or Marc, and 33 y old like Chacho.

It's still a team that can get a medal at any big competition. Plus who knows what the future will bring to you guys. Your youth development programs are one of the best on the continent and the young players you have are also quite solid.
