    Default 3rd-place Game: Lithuania: Greece

    3rd-place Game: Lithuania: Greece
Since Spain has already qualified via the 2006 World Championships, and are guaranteed at-worst a second place finish at EuroBasket, the third place game has additional meaning as the winner of that game will receive the automatic berth.

Lithuania and Greece will battle it out for third place @ 19:00.

good luck for both teams.surely they will be tired (lithuania and greece will have 3 games in two days....) and low morale since the first lost a game that most of us and them was sure that would get and the other gave everything yesterday. So i dont know if they have the power and if they are not empty in order to play again good and take the win
    i hope the best win

It is true they are exhausted and kind of disappointed as they both deserved to be in the final in a way but they are great teams and the bronze medal together with a direct qualification for Beijing are a huge motivation.

The game is going to be great I think and I must say I was looking forward to see a Jasikevicius-Diamantidis match up. I hope the great Lithuanian is in shape.

anyways, I'm optimistic as always (although this time we're not the favourites, imho).

Lithuania usually wins after dissapointing loses in play-off games. O course it's possible that Greece has same ability

Saras will be angry at himself after last night, but his leg and greek D could stop him. Hard imagine same game from Siska as yesterday. On other hand front line should show up this time.

I doubt whether The Brothers could add something. Show me one game where they prevail in blood, sweat and tears game, and I'll tip off my hat to you. They are simply one-dimensional players who excel in run-and-gun game.
Sad but true, that today we will have to depend offense-wise on 5-6 players. And I do not think that will enough to win.

really, judging from the least 2 games Greece is a favorite here, i would be very surprised if Lithuania will find strength and motivation to go and fight. I myself feel exhausted psychologically, just wishing to see a good game

No kidding. After those semifinals u dont even know where to find a single second to chill out...

Thing is, the game is still very important for both teams. Their image and self respect is at stake here. It doesnt matter who wins. What matters is obviously how they play.

both teams need the win for the Olympics.. I'm really mad somebody spread that rumour about the possible change of system in December, it may be bad for player's psychology..

besides, you must not forget that there's certainly no heroes wellcome for our team in case of the loss. sure, some fans would still care, but th nation probbly wouldn't give a damn.. besides, the coaches and some of the players went there in order to prove something and now this mission is in jeopardy..

Butautas according to "sportime" declared that the team is going to have to find a remedy to its problems and fight for the bronze medal as well as for the Olympics. Saras said the game was going to be very tough as both teams are in similar situations.

The game is going to be great believe me.

heh...the game of broken hearts...i don't know. the price of this game will be huge, but i'm not sure about Saras abillity to recover after such games. unpredictable game...maby Lith finally will play like they can, or maby Greece will smash our bleeding ass. But most likely there will be tough fight.

I have no doubt! We will crash, smash and squash them!!!
Jasikevicius has no chances against Diamantidis and Papaloukas(noticed how "Saras" became "Jasikevicius" after the PAO rumors? ).Siskauskas can't have another monster game like yesterday, so it all leads 2 the conclusion:they don't stand a chance;they will b another victim of the greek bulldozer!
    OK?Happy now?
Seriously now, it is really the game of the disappointed teams. But I have faith that both teams can find a way 2 overcome their disappointment and fight 4 the bronze medal.Last night I have the impression that Lithuania was a little more disappointed, but on the other hand Greece has an awful history at bronze medal games.I hope we'll c a good match, although I voted 4 Greece 2 win, I can't make a real prediction, so may the best team win.

Default The right point of view

Ι DO BLAME THE GREEK TEAM FOR ONE REASON.

Whenever we had to play for the bronze medal we lost the game.

    Don’t we like the bronze?
Do we think that we were born only for the gold?

    In Euro basket of 1993 – 1995 – 1997 we came 4th.
In the Mundobasket of 1998 we came 4th as well.
I think it would be better if we had 4 bronze medals.

It’s true that after loosing a semi-finale game you feel empty.
But you cant play like shit in the bronze medal game.

    A medal is a medal.
Every one will remember the first team. But in the history of Eurobasket the book has 3 places on it’s pages.
The first 3 medallist teams. I want that history book to write Greece-bronze medal.

So find the motivation and take the bronze at home.

The way we played in this tournament and with out Shortsianiti and Fotsis the bronze medal will be a success !!!
Lithuania is a hell of a good team and a victory over them it will make me proud.

There is also the motivation of going directly to the Olympics if u got the third place.

So I don’t want to see my NT to be a failure again in the bronze medal game.
    WAKE UP !!!
    A medal is a medal.
    4th place is nothing.
